I am so excited for you to get into this show, im glad ur enjoying it so far! Im probably a bit biased, because I'm a sucker for female led shows but Frieren is one of my few 10/10s. The animation is beautiful and it only gets better! The same with the story. It may be a bit slower paced but for me it's a plus. It allows the plot to breathe.

Like what you were talking about at one point, they use a lot of visual story telling and it progresses the story so much in such a short time. In any other anime, this would have been at least 4 episodes in. I think that's one of the big differences with this show. It's beautiful, emotional, thought-provoking, and deals with some heavy topics in such a kind and gentle way. I've watched it so many times and I still feel like it's the first time. It's just a great show. I mean, it's still #1 on MAL, which is pretty crazy!
