I love the idea of Adrien finding out just how much Marinette wants to be with him as a couple in her everyday life. Marinette doesn't want to make Chat feel guilty for choosing to keep his identity secret for longer, so she's kept the sadness she's been feeling to herself, which is why Adrien was surprised hearing about it now.
This is another reason why half reveals ARE AMAZING AAAAAH!
