September Update!

A massive thank you to longtime Patreon supporters and those who have recently joined! Your support makes this comic possible and, without you, there would be no ongoing Danger Zone One series—and we certainly wouldn’t have reached twenty-three chapters this year!

We have a bunch of new art lined up this month on Patreon, including more characters sketches, NSFW content, pinups, and color artwork! Since we’ve returned to Sumter Academy in the current chapter, we’ll also have content based on many of the Sumter characters—along with fulfilling some art requests we’ve received from several Patreon supporters.

So, a little behind-the-scenes update. The good news is that the DZO website has been receiving record amounts of traffic and the readership numbers are higher than ever. This is always great to see, and it’s awesome knowing that so many people are reading the comic.

Unfortunately, the bad news is that we’ve fallen short of our Patreon goal for both July and August. Missing the goal one month is sustainable, two months in a row makes it tougher, but we can weather that storm, at least for the moment. However, if we don’t reach our goal in September, it’s likely we’ll have to either drop DZO page updates to only once per week, or return to doing the comic in black and white. I’m hoping to avert that from happening — but to ensure that we don’t need to go that route just yet, we’ll be discontinuing GunRiot in October. We’re wrapping up the current GunRiot storyline and, although we planned to do more, it’s just not financially feasible.

I also had two new comics in production, but I’ve cancelled one, and postponed the other, just so all resources support DZO.

Regardless, Patreon updates will continue to be as consistent as ever, no matter what happens. I have no plans to slow down Patreon artwork at all, so no worries about that.

Hopefully this is just a temporary Patreon decline and things pick up this month and next. Originally, I wasn’t going to mention all of this quite yet, but I wanted Patreon supporters to know before anyone else why GunRiot will not be continuing and why there may be upcoming changes to DZO.
