'Work' Screenshots

The editing for my next video is coming on well and it's looking great - here are some screenshots!
I'm happy to say that the fancy trick I tried with making myself appear all ghostly worked like a charm! A little bit of motion blur, a shape mask and some reduced opacity - instant spectre! It looks even better in motion as well!

Speaking of fancy editing, I've been using after effects again to animate quotes onto the screen. You can't really tell from a still, but it just gives the finished video that extra bit of polish
Among the concepts I'll be exploring are emotional labour, bullshit jobs, class... loads of fun stuff, a real capstone to this year's videos
The script is a bit more serious in tone than my last couple, and has a bit more of a storytelling vibe; it's worked quite nicely!
And the Vampire Economist is back! The set worked SO well for this character hee hee, I was very pleased
We even catch him in a candid conversation with his boss...
These shots worked so well - the depth, the lighting, the makeup, it really came together!
And just to show off, I got some over-the-shoulder-in-the-mirror shots haha, I do love doing them
This is a rejected thumbnail haha, I actually got a much better thumbnail shot purely by accident, but you can see this one.
I'm aiming to release this in mid-December: $15+ Patrons will get to see it probably next week!

The most paradoxical thing is that in America we highly value hardwork but we dont want to compensate people for it. We only feel that people should get paid enough to survive on if they hold a certain position in the corporate ladder. So those people who are already working hard for scraps are forced to work harder just to have the basic necessities of food and shelter. And if you complain about the unfair burden, you're scolded for being lazy and then told it's a "you" problem. Management and people working office jobs shouldn't be the only ones to have enough to provide for their needs.

2020-12-05 10:03:16 +0000 UTCI've always felt like the concept of jobs or the concept of a "work ethic" that is, a script telling you to sacrifice your happiness, health, and sanity for your boss/company, is stifling. I also hate the idea that people are defined by their jobs. What do I do? Well, I do painting, reading, writing, whittling, singing, I wander the prairie by myself, I listen to the same heartfelt songs over and over, obsessed with love... But all they want to hear is what I do for money, which to me is the least pleasant part of my existence. There are a lot of unquestioned social rules I wish people called out more.

2020-12-03 22:49:12 +0000 UTCI'm very much looking forward to this. Work is probably the first topic I ever had progressive views on, even in my anti-SJW phase. Having to have gone through unemployment and the Manpower staffing agency, I've kind of started disliking the very concept of jobs - at least the part where supposedly everyone needs to have one at all cost in modern society, despite how much more productive we are because of automation. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this topic in the new video!
