Due to certain factors, modern werewolves find it difficult to have daughters, resulting in a declining population. Consequently, there's a strong cultural desire within their community to have children, especially daughters. Both Gailene and Theseus had been trying to conceive a daughter for quite some time. They had hoped to have more children, but Gailene's injury made Leah their only child. After the incident, their bond grew stronger, but Gailene's hatred for vampires intensified.
