That's absolutely right!! You always manage to pinpoint the exact part I want to emphasize the most. While the two of them always loved each other, the description before this scene often showed a subtle mix of friendship and romance, with Kyoshi seemingly unaware. For instance, those sweet and goofy moments where she felt affection and her heart pounded around Rangi, but she would wonder if it was just because she'd been running or something. However, in this particular scene, she described feeling pain because Rangi was so beautiful. I loved that moment of truly feeling love itself so much that I reread it over and over. I tried to include that sense of pain in her expression when drawing the final part, so I'm thrilled that you recognized that! 😭😭The moon and the lake are always romantic and gay🔥🔥

Oh… My immediate reaction to seeing this was akin to the look on Kyoshi’s face on P2. I need a moment… I knew you were working on this, but man, nothing could’ve prepared me for the final drop. Everything about this piece is well thought-out. The scenery is breathtaking, from the blur in panel 1 from their movement to the striking, heart-stopping, frozen-in-time frames. It’s just so…polished to perfection. I don’t throw around this word lightly. I am very much in love with this. If I could bottle up what this makes me feel it would be stowed away on a top shelf somewhere in a glass case. “So beautiful…” “…that it hurt.” Uh. Anyways. To me, this was THE MOMENT that changed everything for Kyoshi. I 100000% see this as the moment she fell in love. No doubt left in her mind and heart about how she felt for Rangi. Fully aware that if she gave herself any more time to process this—she’d be in trouble. I think you’d convey the message of “falling in love” well to even those who did not read this book. Something about moons and lakes and feelings is very poetic. And gay. 😆
