(Quest Vote) SongsTress Quest Episode 22 - Material Girl

The Story So Far...

Okay Serenity, dance your way out of this one. You spin, snapping your fingers - and your fanclub room comes to life. Dolls leap off the shelves. Posters detach from the walls. Magazines burst open, flapping into the air with their freed pages. Alarm clocks begin to ring. Your lair begins to sing~

Serenity Dancer, who was struggling with one of the locked doors leading out, has all of two seconds to see she's surrounded, before the horde descends upon her.

Serenity Dancer: 56 (Fail!)

(Bonuses: Base Resistance (+10) + Rank 2 Serenity (+20) = +30) Roll: 26

The dolls are first, and for a second it looks like she has them handled. Her graceful moves weave around the first grabs, and her powerful kicks punt more than a few of your likenesses across the room (you can't help but feel a little personally attacked at that). But she doesn't have the room to dodge everything, and even as she pulls back from a kick to wind up another, two dolls manage to latch on to her legs, clamping on tight while singing their little hearts out.

(Serenity Dancer has gained the Debuff: Harried, Rank 1! She will have a -10 penalty to all rolls until she leaves the fanclub room.)

It's not much - she could knock them off in a second if she had time. But she doesn't, and the distraction is going to cost her.

Serenity Dancer: 28 (Fail!)

(Bonuses: Base Resistance (+10) + Rank 2 Serenity (+20) = +30 Penalties: Harried (-10) = +20) Roll: 8

The posters sweep in, gliding like paper airplanes. She sees them coming at the last moment, and tries to cartwheel out of the way, flipping to the side with practiced grace. It's not quite enough to dodge all of them, though, and as the last one sweeps in towards her, she tries to adjust by kicking it aside.

Mistake! As soon as her foot makes contact, the poster sucks it inside, turning the end of her leg into a flat piece of art. The pull isn't quite enough to draw the rest of her in with it, but that leg is all but usless to her now - and judging by her swearing, she knows it.

Serenity Dancer: 50 (Fail!)

(Bonuses: Base Resistance (+10) + Rank 2 Serenity (+20) = +30 Penalties: Harried (-20) = +10) Roll: 40

That's when the alarm clocks start ringing, just as Dancer tries to balance on one leg. If she could, she would have just knocked them all away with a sweeping kick, but now she has no choice but to let their cry fill the air!

(Serenity Dancer has gained the Debuff: Harried, Rank 3! She will have a -30 penalty to all rolls until she leaves the fanclub room.)

"Time's up! Give up! Time's Up! Give up! Time's up! Give up!" Their chant repeats over and over, slamming into the Serenity with all the force your recorded hypnotic voice can muster. You see her stagger as the wave of sound drowns out everything else, see her raise her hands to try to block out the noise...

Serenity Dancer: 31 (Fail!)

(Bonuses: Base Resistance (+10) + Rank 2 Serenity (+20) = +30 Penalties: Harried (-30) = 0) Roll: 31

But before she can, one of your dolls slams another piece of merch over her ears instead. A pair of headphones.

Immediately, your music starts blasting, with a direct route to her unprotected brain.

"You're here to obey,
That's all you can say,
You belong to your Mistress,
That's gotta be SongsTress!"

(Serenity Dancer has gained the Debuff: Harried, Rank 4! She will have a -40 penalty to all rolls until she leaves the fanclub room.)

A grunt and a groan spills from her mouth as the lyrics go to work. Her lips whisper something - it might have been a weak 'obey'! - and then she bites her tongue, still trying to resist. Again, she reaches up to try and dislodge the headphones...

Only to leave herself open to another attack.

Serenity Dancer: 40 (Fail!)

(Bonuses: Base Resistance (+10) + Rank 2 Serenity (+20) = +30 Penalties: Harried (-40) = -10) Roll: 37

Just as her hands reach her ears, she found herself blinded - a magazine slapping itself onto her face, filling her vision with pictures of you, and endless paragraphs about how amazing you were. All loaded with hypnotic subliminal images, of course. Another groan, her hands weakening, confusion setting in...

(Serenity Dancer has gained the Debuff: Harried, Rank 5! She will have a -50 penalty to all rolls until she leaves the fanclub room.)

She's staggered, uncertain, and starting to drool. Serenity Dancer might pull herself together at any moment, but right now, she's at her most vulnerable!
