Premium Content Ideas and Future Plans

Hello everyone, heres the tldr;

1. Request for Premium Content Ideas (to run as a series)

2. Future Plans for the Channel

In the past Backlog Buster has been pretty scattershot in terms of what I've been posting. I think the future is to run the channel in several sub-series and see them through to completion. Just like what has been happening with Final Fantasy 5 and the Single Job Challenges.

I think the path forward is to post videos in cyles of three (maybe 4).

1. "Dealers Choice" - My personal project series

2. Public Series for YouTube (Platinums and/or Challenges)

3. Premium Series for Patreon and YouTube Channel Members

Then it will cycle back to 1, and repeat.

The occasional one-off game will always be on the table, but I think running a series is the path forward. A series is good for me to have a focus to stay motivated, and its good for youtube views. Viewers see you're starting a project, they get invested, and every piece is a self-contained episode within a bigger whole. Then theres the catharsis of finishing it and moving onto a new project.

For Dealers Choice: I'm going to make 4 episodes for Digital Devil Saga (1, 1NG+, 2, 2NG+) because I have the footage. My plan was to do NG publicly, and NG+ for Premium, but I'm going to make it all public. Then I'm going to work through "Every Squaresoft PS1 Game" as a personal project (~26 episodes).

For the Public Series: It will probably be the FF Pixel Remaster Platinums (1-6), but there are logical paths forward like: FF1 Single Job Challenges (~6 episodes), and FF3 Single Job Challenges (Probably way too many), etc. As well as stuff like Final Fantasy Tactics SJC, which I have footage for Monk for years at this point.

The big question: What do I make as a premium series?

Premium content could be anything. Casual Playthroughs of A Game Series, Challenges, Platinums, etc. I would prefer to hard commit to making series that are public, and ones that are premium. For instance, if I opt to do something like Dead Space Platinums for Premium, then I would work through all the Dead Space Platinums for Premium (Outside of a public advertisement that its up on Premium). I dont want to post half of a series publicly and half on premium. That just sounds like its going to upset people. When I run a series it's going to be all public, or all premium.

Premium Content should be able to cover edgier games since it's not tied to Ad-Revenue on YouTube. Drakengard's best home may be on Premium for instance.

I am getting tapped out of stored content so I may have to make premium content every 4th video moving forward until I finish out the FF5 Single Job Challenges. Then I can fall into a routine.

This is all a ways off and likely not going to be started until 2025, but let me know what you want to see on Backlog Buster for premium content so I can plan accordingly.

FF5 Summoner, Thief, Chemist > Premium Momodora Reverie Under The Moonlight Platinum

FF5 White Mage, Mime, Freelancer > Premium FFT Ramza Only
