It is intentional. It's a very optional fight, one that I even made a special achievement for :D

2024-01-29 16:11:08 +0000 UTCThat blood hunter was one tough bastard it cost me a small fortune but I finally beat him on mortal difficulty. Just a note though not sure if it’s intentional but even if pass all the stat checks and have 520 vitality and constitution he still drains your health to zero.. I still won though thanks to my fathers robe.
