(Video) Game
Added 2025-10-11 17:51:20 +0000 UTCI am here with a new idea again: Video as Game.
Imagine a relaxing driving game where you drive alone on a single lane road inside a vehicle.
What is the freedom you have?
You can speed up and slow down
You can move left-right a little bit
Corners are wider so you have more freedom to move left-right
You can turn your head
But the freedom you have is pretty limited.
If we use recorded video for environment and render the vehicle on top of video with a few tricks you have the whole gameplay (except turning the head but we can auto turn the head for corners so you can have proper experience).
Also with some simple tricks we can also have up/down movement of head inside vehicle to get more natural feedback.
To make something like this it shouldn't be a video from real life but it should be pre-rendered video because of some limitations.
If we make a game like this, what are the advantages?
Realistic objects
Realistic lighting
Unlimited realistic render distance
Unlimited realistic details
Better performance because only vehicle/vehicle shadows/particles rendered
We can have snow/dust etc particles with a little bit extra work
And disadvantages?
Cannot turn your head, automated for corners
Cannot have moving pre-rendered objects (wind for grass/trees)
Has to be pre-rendered for every weather/time of day
Big file size for each environment/weather/time of day
It might require minimum speed limit for straight roads to keep file size low
Cannot use other cameras, only first person camera will be available
I think with realistic force feedback, realistic environment sounds, high quality vehicle interiors, realistic vehicles sounds, dirt for window and dust/snow particles etc we can have a great relaxing driving experience even with a mid-range pc.
I was playing ETS2/ATS for this reason, to drive a hour a day to chill and rest. But quality is not good enough.
What do you think, would you play something like this when you want to chill and have a realistic driving experience with actually realistic graphics?

Debo hacer ajustes ?

2025-11-06 06:13:48 +0000 UTCWe all have the same problem. Even the creators of the game who turn a blind eye and pretend they don't see it. There's probably nothing they can do about it. It's the only reason I use method D where the flickering is less noticeable, although I'm thrilled with method B. I wish Snowy Moon could do something. It has been said many times but if he could he would have fixed it by now I think.

2025-10-18 23:40:42 +0000 UTCLook, most people here are just sharing their opinions — stay away from the ones that might kill your motivation. Usually, when I ask people “What if I did something like this?” before actually doing it, no matter what the idea is, most of them respond negatively because they live in a world they've built in their own heads. Trust me, people’s opinions constantly change. You already have a solid idea in your mind, so go ahead and do it. Don’t care about the opinions of the fools here. Do what you’ve envisioned, and once it’s done, then ask for feedback — that way you’ll get much better input.

2025-10-14 00:46:23 +0000 UTCExcellent idea if you need help with sounds I'm in the sound business, well I'm a musician, but I've also made a lot of clean engine loops without cracking since I've been playing ETS2 and ATS for a long time.

2025-10-12 20:19:37 +0000 UTCThat’s a really interesting idea! I love the concept of focusing on relaxation and realism instead of complex gameplay. It could be a great experience for players who just want to enjoy the scenery and unwind for a while. But yeah, the limited freedom might feel strange at first. still, I’d definitely try something like this.
