Regarding the Dragon Ball character voiced by Hikari Midorikawa, his original name "Pai Gu Fan" means either "pork chop with rice" (Da Pai Gu Fan) or "ribs with rice"(Xiao Pai Gu Fan). The phrase is of course bastardized Chinese. Yep, the late Akira Toriyama's habit of naming characters after food was alive and well with that one.
