Many thanks and a first update!

Hello everyone, I wanted to take a quick minute to thank everyone for pledging and getting us over our first goal within like a single day. Hitting that first goal was the main reason we started this Patreon, and now that it's met we can do the podcast without worrying about how much it costs us out of pocket, and that's a big deal. We're a humble little show, so your support means a lot.

This post is going to be public, because I want people to be able to see what's going on right now. As always, if you can't support us (and I get it, money's tight all around), your RTs of the Patreon or the podcasts, and your evangelizing to your friends all help build what we do as well. Please keep doing that! None of our shows are ever going to be behind a paywall, and if this is successful we'll make way more of them, so everyone wins.

As for the 5+ tier weekly update writing, we're going to be switching off doing those to keep the workload manageable. I'm writing the first one, which should go out next weekend when I have some time to think about what's going to go in them. They're going to be pretty general 'what we've been up to' letters, so please look forward to me talking about 30 Rock in addition to whatever I've been playing. I'm trying very hard to finish watching that show.

We won't roll out the suggestions/voting/etc. until the first pledges process. This is in part because the Abnormal Mapping podcast has always run pretty well in advance, at least in planning, and we already know what we're doing for the June episode. So please look forward to Knights of the Old Republic 2 as we settle in for some more Star Wars talk. If you missed our original KotOR episode, you can check it out here. I've also got my next two Let's Adventure YouTube series in various degrees of being prepped, but once that's done I'll be happy to allow people at the necessary tiers to vote on and suggest games for that as well.

That's it for now. Thanks everyone for pledging, for sharing, for telling us and telling others how much you like the podcasts we do. We're still working on things, trying to spin up new shows (like The Amory Wars, which I've listened to an early cut of, it's something real dumb and good) or continue to build our current shows (the second episode of Second Officer Slog is coming out Tuesday, and it's even better than the first). Everything continues on, but I personally am so much less stressed about it all knowing we can pay for everything in perpetuity now, so long as we are physically able to sit in front of our mics and open up with you all.

Thanks again, see you next week,

M
