It's time for you to suggest things for us to cover!

Hello $5+ and up patrons! M here, for this update full of possibilities. Our first payments processed, which means that you all quality for the rewards set at this tier. That mostly means writing from me and Jackson every Saturday, but there’s more!

First, about the monthly hang out thing. We don’t have a ton of patrons, so we can do this in one of a couple ways. We could do a skype call. We could do a google hangout or a private stream over youtube’s live streaming service. This would probably be an hour long, and sometime during the weekend. Let us know if you want to do this, and what days/times would be good. If people don’t actually care, we won’t bother doing it. It was just an idea, and it might not be a thing people want, and that’s okay. We’re not really streamers or anything. If you aren't interested in this, please let us know you don't care so we can stop advertising it if the interest isn't there.

Your support also means you get to suggest stuff for us to play for Abnormal Mapping or Star Trek episodes for us to watch for Second Officer Slog. For Second Officer Slog, it’s actually really easy. Just reply here or at podcast@abnormalmapping.com with your suggestion and we’ll add it to our hopper. We cover two episodes a month and will happily start adding patron suggestions into that rotation with episode 5 coming out in August (we’re set through then, sadly.)

For game suggestions, which we think will be the bulk of the interest, we plan on collecting suggestions for Abnormal Mapping and putting them in the polls for every patron to vote on. We’ll start this with the July game club, which will have a poll that runs in a few weeks so we can decide before we record. So get these suggestions in early. Again, podcast@abnormalmapping.com. Or, if you want to make my job super easy, just reply to this post. If you send an email, please put GAMES ARE TRASH ACTUALLY into the subject line, just so I know you’re a patron. That’s our secret code. Nobody would ever just say this unprompted.

A few rules about the game club games:

• This is a rule me and Jackson try to live by for games we pick, so you have to live by it too. No games less than a year old. This is iron clad. If you really want us to talk about something recent, wait until it meets the window and then suggest it. We won’t consider new games.
• Nothing more than 30 hours long, and preferably much shorter than that. If you REALLY want us to play Xenogears, that’s what our $10 backer level is for. Honestly. We’ll suffer the long games only for the fattest stacks. 
• I don’t have an Xbox One, so no exclusives for that. Everything else is probably fair game? We can emulate a lot of stuff, but we’re not experts. Please try not to pick super obscure games that are hard to get running on modern hardware. 
• Please don’t troll us. We really like talking about good games we like. That’s your money and our time best spent, I think.
