Weekly Update - October 1, 2017
Added 2017-10-01 16:00:00 +0000 UTCHey friends, M here. It's spoop time! Abnormal Mapping doesn't actually really do horror stuff, typically, but I am definitely doing some peak spoop in my life right now watching horror movies. Might I recommend The Girl with All the Gifts, currently on Amazon Prime streaming? It's a really thought, not particularly scary British zombie movie. Two thumbs up.
Also, a note: since Gundam is basically our $1 reward now, we're going to set these updates to be free for everyone. Hopefully nobody subscribed just to get these, and maybe it'll show more people the very good content on the site every week. We're so busy!
Okay, let's get to the goods. We've been hella busy, thanks to Star Trek Discovery coming out. So let's begin the long list of stuff this week.
- Abnormal Mapping 68 launched, in which we discussed five small games and had a good time remembering that it's nice to revisit old favorites and bring equal consideration onto them.
- Second Officer Slog's first weekly Discovery episode launched, covering episodes 1 and 2 of the new series. It's a doozy, and a great place to jump in if you're not listening to the podcast yet!
- Fireside Friends had guest John Stull on to talk about Father John Misty's new album? I don't know what that means, but I'm very not cool. Is he an actual priest?? ANYONE???
- The Great Gundam Project reaches about the quarter through mark on the original Mobile Suit Gundam as Garma has his bright shining moment of being a fireball. RIP.
- The YouTube channel is as busy as ever as I continue to play through Gabriel Knight and Castlevania Chronicles. I couldn't imagine two different games to play next to each other but they're both great!
- The Patreon letter this week was me discussing cheating in games through mods or hacks to work around the parts of the game you don't like. Go read it! Go cut out the parts of games you don't like! Be free!
And that was just this week! Next week will bring you such delights as:
- Another Discovery episode of SOS
- A new Amory Score
- More Let's Plays
And like Jackson's letter and stuff. One note, I'll probably also start up a new suggestion thread for November's game club game, so if you're a $5 patron start thinking of games you'd like us to play now, and if you have a suggestion and you aren't there yet, maybe bump it up! We don't usually get a ton of suggestions, so you're very likely to get what you want if you do.
Okay, that's it! So many things. Thanks again for your support. All this is possible because of you.
