The reality is that solving the problem between mortals and immortals is quite simple. The mortals greatly outnumber their predators, if everyone donated a little, the immortals would have a bag a day (maybe not to fill up but to live every day)
But this is the perfect world, where there is no discrimination. I've heard news where they wouldn't let lgbt donate, or people refusing to donate to lgbt. If they don't donate to each other how could we expect them to have empathy for lit monsters (that eat them, they have some right to hate them, but immortals have some right to want to live i guess?)
And the reality is that mortals can live without immortals but immortals can't live without mortals, the "easiest" solution is to exterminate immortals. And knowing the people who run our world... sigh, I want to go to the perfect world TwT
maybe a little political? yeah, is holidays time. I need to prepare for family dinner xd

Honestly, I think people would sell their blood rather than donate it. Also given most often cash strapped it create an over supply than a shortage.
