I’m so thankful for what Mrs. Jenghison recommended for me. At the beginning of the school year, my kindergarten classroom was poorly decorated and a mess! A few parents, including her, seemed to frown at me a lot even though I was just trying to teach their children the basics like ABCs and how to count! They even said they didn’t feel comfortable with me around their kids for some reason. Our principal and administrative team tried to encourage as much parent and community input as possible since the federal collapse of the Department of Education and return to ‘conservative values’ in the classroom. Mrs. Jenghison first recommended that I start putting more effort into my appearance. I found my old school I.D. the other day and it’s so funny that I used to have short hair back then and for some reason, facial hair!
Some of the women in their 30s like I was told me of a great diet to lose weight and some pills that would help curve my figure a bit. I ditched those ugly dress shirts and ties for outfits that the kids would feel more welcoming… like dressing like a Mom! Unfortunately, I was out sick for about a week because of many stomach cramps, bad migraines and memory loss, and even had to spend night at the hospital where they removed that weird thing that had grown between my legs. I don’t remember much of what else happened there, but know my height and age had changed on the hospital reports along with my new feminine name!
The children are excited to call me Miss every day and the parents are happier than ever, frequently complimenting me on my teaching style as well as appearance! The classroom is better than ever!
