Development update #4 (About v0.12)
Added 2022-07-24 02:19:35 +0000 UTCHowdy! I'm a bit late to this as I didn't really want to spam people too close to previous posts, but oh well. So the results from the poll came in as you may have seen, and the general consensus is to just keep working on the game, and do a release when it's ready. With that in mind, I took a look at what my criteria for "ready" is.
1) Release is of a decent length.
2) Has been bug tested.
3) The release ends at a point that doesn't cut the story (Hard to explain. Kinda explained below)
No actual order of importance for these, they're just 3 things I want to achieve with every release. Regarding #3 though, to me that means just don't stop a release in the middle of something big. It's hard to explain, but I don't want to have the version end "mid conversation" from a story perspective. I guess you'll sorta see what I mean when this release comes out.
With that said, I've decided that one way or another, the next release will be released to the professor tier patrons on July 29th (And subsiquently 1 week later to the student tier)
I've got the game in a state now where I could release something now, and it'll fit all 3 criteria, but I'm gonna keep working, and if I happen to get it to a state where it still fits all 3 criteria by the 29th, I'll include the newer content in the v0.12 release as well. Aaaand if I don't quite manage it, I guess it reduces dev time slightly on the next next release. If you stick around you'll end up getting the content one way or another.
In the meantime, I hope everyone is surviving the heat, and having a good summer.
