Behind the scenes BS #1

Whatup. It's the end of the month, and I've decided to release some behind the scenes bullshit. Nothing too exciting, but someone might find it interesting I guess. This time, we've got one of my chaotic mindmap thing that I use to essentially plan the game. It's one of 3 different mindmaps of varying levels of detail that I use. One for planning out what scenes need to happen, one for planning generally (And messily) what needs to happen during those scenes, and one which is essentially a script for each of those scenes. (The last one will be the closest to what actually ends up in the game.)
This one I'm releasing is the one for planning out what needs to happen in each scene. This particular mindmap also sort of functions as a filter for ideas, so some of the stuff in there either didn't actually make it into the game, or was changed.
For example, when Cassie and Riley need to leave to go to a movie when you first meet them, they were originally going to leave to go swimming, and not invite you because "It's a girls only pool". (This was changed because having a pool scene without actually showing it is a bit lame for a game like this. It'd be like having a fan service hot springs episode of something, told from the perspective of someone who wasn't even there.)
I've limited the version I've uploaded to the end of 0.12, and I've also removed a couple of other bits due to spoilers.

Yeah that whole nazi thing was an odd one. Originally the Stormside uniform had all the students wearing brown shirts. They kind all looked like UPS employees. Unfortunately I then stuck an armband on a few characters for a future event test, and they turned from couriers, to Nazi brownshirts.. oof.. So now they all just have white shirts instead. I dread to think how big this mindmap will end up getting though. It takes like 4 minutes to load as it is. By the end of the project I imagine I'll need a 2nd computer that never gets turned off just to display this mess..

2022-10-01 01:53:37 +0000 UTCOne of the things I love about this kind of stuff is when you get to see the creators notes and what they wrote for themselves. Extra special props to "this is fucking terrible, let's not do this" and "meh, just write this at the time". Oh, and past Atemsiel looking out for present Atemsiel by hiding plot details even in the planning document.
