Development update #29 (And also the poll results)

Hello nerds. Apologies for my relative silence recently, both here and on discord. Sadly the whole crowdstrike thing pulled me away from things for a week when it happened, and the stuff that didn't get done during that week as a result ended up pulling me away from things this week. I've only just gotten home today, as I've been working half way up the country for the last week. To make things slightly more annoying, I accidentally smashed my phone on the first day away, so it's been a very boring week.

But that's all done now. Here's update. Obviously I missed the end of July estimate, making me wonder why I even bother with estimates anymore, but it is what it is. The two weeks of having little to no time to actually work on the game has been a bit of an issue, but it only really changes the release date. I won't be rushing stuff to make up for lost time since I feel that what gets released is more important than when it gets released (Though I'd still ideally like the update out asap)
I'm hesitant to say that I've bitten off more than I can chew with this update, because it will get done, but I will admit that I underestimated just how long this one would take. The IRL delays obviously haven't helped, but even so, this is a complicated one. In terms of stats, we're currently at about 2500 renders, and 119 animations. I have no idea how many dialogue lines or lines of code or whatever, as always. Making this update has made me truly wonder how I managed to make 0.22 in the time I did.

Annoyingly, I'm currently locked out of my discord account due to a password reset error, so to anyone wondering where I am in there, I apologise, but I can't actually get in there right now. I'm hoping to have this fixed soon though. It even means I'm gonna have to use a backup account for dev DnD in a few hours, in case anyone here watches that and wonders how I'm talking lol.

Anyway, onto the poll thing. I'm a bit late again of course, but the above does at least partially explain why. Here are the somewhat unsurprising results.

1st - Predicament porn - 145 votes
2nd - Lesbian render with Akemi and Olivia - 126 votes
3rd - Cell phone selfie (Carried from the last poll) - 120 votes
4th - Just a nice render of Akemi - 64 votes
5th - Combat photoshoot - 14 votes

I only just got the chance to check membership status' today, which is a little unfortunate, but I've done my best to account for the votes of those who have voted and then unsubbed at their proper vote weights, but I can't do the same for those who may have downgraded unfortunately, as there isn't a category for that in the csv member output thing. Anyway, it seems that Predicament porn has won, so that should come out in the next few days (Along with any custom renders I still gotta do. Obviously I wasn't able to do any last week lol)

One thing some of you may have noticed is that the community image for June has disappeared. This is because patreon decided to hide it for breach of their rules, though it's unclear whether they took issue with the image being used in an image post, or if it was the content of the image itself. I edited the post to include a download link for the image instead and sent it back to them for review, but I haven't heard anything back yet. Apparently it usually takes 2 days, but it's been 13, and I've heard nothing, so that post is probably gone lol. Given how the predicament porn one is probably gonna turn out, I'm gonna distribute it through messages this time, at least until patreon gives me some kind of definitive answer about what the issue was. If it turns out it's the content type, then I may have to remove the harder stuff from future polls for the sake of not getting my page shut down.

Additionally, I'm gonna be pausing the community render thing after this render is done until the update is out. I gotta make that the priority for the time being.

That's about it for now. Apologies again for the delay, but hopefully it'll all be worth it in the end :D

Life happens. And when it does, don't freak out, just laugh it off. Put on a big ol' smile and laugh. That said, take a breath and take your time. Breathe deep and laugh. Freakin phones and travel, yikes. Breathe, laugh, and you'll be back in the swing of things in no time.

I agree with Frippee... don't push yourself so far you burn out. And also even if it delays the launch of the next release, take some time to play. It does wonders for your mental health and creativity.
