That last panel, where Bok gives Jerome the "finger" -- I gave some thought to this: What sort of gesture would likely be the equivalent of The Finger a thousand years and half a billion light-years from here and now? Probably not The Finger, but I'm making this strip for an audience in the here and now, so without the space to explain something like, "Bok raised his arm and stuck his tongue out under his elbow, which in Novo Paolo during the 11th Century S.A. is a common sign of personal disdain" it might not read well. So, The Finger it is.
