Hello! Here is the weekly update, at the end I will talk about something IMPORTANT so it would be advisable to read at least that part
-Drawing: I have already decided which will be the 4 new drawings, this week we start
-Model Custom: I have started the Nayo model, I have created the body, minus the arms, since I am going to use the arms of the original model, now I am starting the texturing process, I am selecting all the textures that I am going to use to then edit them and integrate them correctly, it is a lot of information to take into account but I have no problems
Rebecca's update is now in its final stages, finally
>>>>Now yes, IMPORTANT TOPIC<<<
In the time I've been using Blender I tried to use the most recent version, everything was fine until they released version 4.0, the previous one is 3.6, what happens? I couldn't update, I couldn't open Blender 4.0, why? My PC didn't meet the requirements, version 4.0 as far as I investigated is a big change, so I could understand it, the thing is that in all this time I've been stuck on 3.6, even now that I've bought my new PC I'm still using 3.6, but a couple of days ago I installed the latest version, 4.3, and it opens and I can use it normally, now, things happen and I'm in a dilemma
If from now on I start using 4.0 that would indicate that the models and updates I publish will be in that version and I don't know if you have the same experience as me in the past and can't update to 4.0
I thought that even if it were like that the model should be able to work in Blender 3.6 (or lower), but no, there are 2 things (for now, I would have to do more tests) that are incompatible
-The armature: especially the "rig layers" doesn't work, the metarig as an addon also has to be updated and that implies redoing the rig and configuring it in another way and honestly, now it makes me very lazy
-The UI: this doesn't work either, in Blender 3.6 it is a python document that I ran in the corresponding .blend, now it seems that in 4.0 I have to install it as an addon and I don't know if even then the UI configuration is recovered or I have to configure the UI from the beginning
In a simple way, if you have a model of mine made with Blender 3.6 you can't open it in Blender 4.3 and vice versa
I've posted a survey to find out how many people can use the latest version of Blender and see if it's feasible for me to publish models in that version
Anyway, I'm still going to keep working on 3.6 since the jump is big and several things work differently, and first I have to get familiar with it, I'm going to stretch it as much as possible since I'm in the season of updates and now I don't feel like starting a new one
So to finish I want you to know that sooner or later I'll have to publish my models in version 4.3 or higher, that's what technology is like, I can be using 3.6 for a while but I know that sooner or later it has to end
That would be all, thanks for reading, I would appreciate if you participate in the survey, see you!
