Why I don't list patron names in my videos

Here's some thoughts.

Why I don't list patron names in my videos

Comments

Yes, agree. I never became a patreon to see my name on the screen. That would make me feel uncomfortable. I appreciate your work and every now and then I learn a new plugin and/or synth. That's more valuable to me. And those video's with names at the end, I always press the L key, until they're gone.

Totally agree

I will say that I agree that it can be very diminishing for supporters to be listed. The only time I say that adhering to this does not need to be strict, is when there is a much larger donation. I believe that *if* the supporter is listed in that instance, then they are listed or noted as something akin to an executive producer. I'm happy to support you for what you do and not vanity. Rock on.

I totally agree with you. Personally, I would even go further, I *do not* want to have my name appearing in videos. It would even be a reason not to pay for me. Like other said, I support you because what you do is valuable and I am aware that it is a lot of work, period. Thank you for sharing your thoughts though, _that_ makes me feel involved. Now, go and make some music! ;-)

I disagree in that it doesnโ€™t add value for the patreon. Itโ€™s nice to see your name on something that you helped make possible. That being said, i didnโ€™t join to have my name in your video. So whatever you do, i am fine with it.

Just keep making videos man, no need for other endorsements ) Some "patron-only specials", talking about random stuff might be interesting though. I don't know why but I love those "ramblings" Techmoan makes for patrons every month, may be because they show him more like a human friend of us rather than a YouTube personality, and it's heartwarming in a way. Many of us need that today, because friends are becoming more and more distant. Dan Yahro (Shango066) discussed this "YouTube friendship" phenomenon once in one of his recent mine exploration videos.

I agree. For me personally, it would feel strange to see my name showing up in one of your videos, and I would not want it. I support you (a little) because I appreciate your videos very much, not to get some sort of recognition. Also, you often express your gratitude in speech (without naming specific people). That makes more sense to me than displaying a list of names.
