To be fair to Goku, the limit of 2 people in the chamber is about supplies: do you know how much food does it take to sustain two saiyans for a whole year? Even for a magical room, that's a lot. And, about the pairings, Goku has his reasons to want to pair with his own son, so it leaves Trunks to pair up with Vegeta: he's even willing to let them go in first as long as he gets to train with Gohan. Also, a comment on Piccolo's (a.k.a. Kamiccolo) power level. Even if we haven't had numeric power levels since the Freezer saga, it's worth mentioning that when 16 measured him to be about the same level as 17, he was wearing his weighted clothes, which he just took off.

Toei likes to create lots of filler stories exaggerating Chi Chi’s temper, but she’s a much rarer character in the manga and she’s way less annoying. That’s why you get a scene of her getting mad at Goku’s friends for hoping he would wake up and help them fight, but then 3 episodes later she requests Goku and Gohan to go fight. The former is filler, the latter isn’t
