A Promise Best Left Unkept V0.1.0 - Hangover/Passed Out (10$/15$) Tier

So this is the first build of A Promise Best Left Unkept. It’s around 30k words in length, which is a bit longer than the updates I’m used to releasing, but I absolutely wanted to at least reach some of the action. Even then, the build finishes a bit too abruptly for my taste, but I couldn’t afford to delve any further into the story. Hopefully, next month’s release will be more action-oriented.

Mystery

What I find the most unfortunate is that, currently, the mystery route is pretty lackluster. I guess that’s the problem with developing all perspectives in parallel (the content becomes divided). Still, it was a conscious choice to introduce all perspectives at the same time since I want to do things differently from The Edge Of in order to have a better understanding of what people like.

Harry's Sprite

Also, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to put my hands on Harry’s (the protagonist’s) sprite. So, for now, he has no illustration. I really hope I can have it for the next release, but I probably won’t wait for it since I imagine most people don’t really care all that much.

Proofreading

As of right now, I have not hired someone to proofread the story. I’ll do it eventually, but I want to write more of it before I do (for obvious reasons). So I’m really sorry if the quality is not up to par with your expectations. Sometimes I make very rudimentary mistakes, which is quite embarrassing. Hopefully, it won’t detract from the overall experience.

Android Version

Like with The Edge Of, I'll be linking a version of the game for Android, but I won't be actively supporting it. Hopefully most functionalities will keep working even with further updates.

Two things that I explained in previous posts

First, the first sex/cuddling scene (CG set) is not representative of the other scenes. Those CGs were drawn by the sprite artist of the two heroines, and he stopped right after since he didn’t feel comfortable drawing backgrounds. I don’t think the CG set is worth a redraw, but I might do it if enough people are put off by it.

Second, you might be surprised by Harry’s (the protagonist’s) choices at the start of the story since he doesn’t fall into the usual traps a NTR protagonist usually falls into. That’s because those choices were meant to be choices the readers make in order to split the story into two distinct routes. Unfortunately, I had to scratch the idea as I noticed that the first route was starting to get a bit too long (and that’s without considering Aya’s own route). I might put those choices back in if people really like the characters and story, but, for now, I’m giving up on the idea.
