Build 10.18.24 (v0.5.10) release notes

Hey everyone!

A new build is out today, bringing you a rewrite of the combat system code in order to make it more dynamic and fast paced. This rewrite replaces the usage of dialogues in combat with a combat log that displays all the actions happening, this makes it easy and faster for each turn to execute.

These changes to make it more dynamic will allow us to introduce more features such as multi-targeting, specially when we introduce the magic system.

Also, we finally have a brand new updated splash screen with our logo updated!

And lastly, several dialogues have been revised and some user interfaces have been updated across the game with text and/or minor visual updates.

COMBAT

+Rewrote Combat system to be more dynamic, fast paced and less dependant on the dialogue system.

+Combat now displays a log of all the actions during combat on the top left corner of the screen, this replaces the previous usage of dialogues for every combat action.

+After finishing a battle, a new UI will display the combat results, such as exp, money and any items obtained.

+When doing or receiving damage, a text indicator now pops up from the party member or enemy that gets hit displaying the number of hit points taken.

+Default attack can now be triggered by just clicking on an enemy without having to select the Attack action first. (Thanks to Patron tapjazz for the suggestion)

GAMEPLAY

+Rebalanced the chance and amount of money enemies can drop making it more profitable.

+Added new 'Danger' status when the party has been defeated in Combat outside of dungeons.

+Danger status will reduce the player's Health by 1 every certain number of steps outside of dungeons until the player heals back up.

+Entering dungeons in 'Danger' state will now give the player 1 HP to avoid instant game over.

+Updated Halloween intro with warning about saving the game before starting the event's story.

+Added new CG for one of the study events at the library.

+Updated Downtown Digital Square BG.

+Party join/dismiss options are no longer available inside dungeons.

+Intro has been updated with a new "divine" soundtrack during the goddess scenes. (Thanks to Timmy)

+Text updates on several activity and random events, tutorials and others. (Thanks to Timmy)

+New items have been added to some other locations. (Thanks to Timmy)

UI

+Updated logo splash screen video with a new one.

+Updated Money expenses indicator to be more responsive/dynamic and fixed issue displaying 0 in some cases.

+UI adjustments for Lockpicking UI and others across the game (Thanks to Timmy)

+Updated Patrons in credits.

BUG FIXES

+Fixed bug with dungeon hotkeys crashing the game when pressing them outside of dungeons.

+Fixed bug where being defeated outside of dungeons would allow you to walk freely inside dungeons without any combat encounters.
