2022-12-08 00:57:31 +0000 UTCOKAY, Using Shizuku Manager, and APP Ops, I was able to force the read/write permission for the app! Downloads are working. (You do need a pc, and adb connection to start Shizuku though.)

Best I can tell the write_external_atorage permission has been removed from the api, and is auto denied to apps asking for it. According to Google, as long as the app is downloading to its designated folder (don't know if that's app designated, or Android designated) it's allowed to write, no problems.

Doesn't help that FA keeps making changes that break each release you put out. :( I tried installing several older versions of the app to enable the appropriate permissions in settings, but it looks like Android 13 only lists a "Notifications" permission, just like it does for 2.0.31. I also tried forcing the permissions via ADB since my phone is rooted, but it seems READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE are no longer applicable. Since you're already maintaining a separate non-play store NSFW build of the app, maybe you could have it declare MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE instead? https://developer.android.com/training/data-storage/manage-all-files Not sure of the security implications, but I think that would also allow you to re-enable the download path menu that had to be disabled back when Android 11 caused a similar issue.

I just updated my phone again last night and it still said "Media and Photos" as one of the permissions but it gets auto grouped with the "Audio......." one ( I forgot what it was called) I uninstalled the app and installed the 2.0.29 version to get access to that media permission to turn it on then updated to the 2.0.31 version and i can dowload fine now. idk what "bored it" meansπ

2022-12-07 21:20:18 +0000 UTCThey did change read-media-storage to r-m-images/audio/video for 13. The latter gets grandfathered into the new settings on upgrade though. I made the mistake in uninstalling and reinstalling when fa updated, and borked it.

It's just something in this app that isn't showing a permission for wanting access to media and photos so it can download but since it is works right now I will see if it continues to work as what I did, works for app version 2.0.30 but after a day or 2 the app wouldn't load.

2022-12-07 17:50:19 +0000 UTCThanks for the update but the app still does not have the "photos and media" permission in the permission section to allow it to download images. However I managed to fix that by uninstalling it, downloading version 2.0.29, giving it the proper permissions then "updating" to 2.0.31. I hope this helps you or someone else in some way. As of right now it does work fine but idk about if it still will in a couple days.
