What's Coming from Noclip in November?

Hey folks!

First of all, thank you so much to all the folks who have joined the Noclip family since we put the word out about 2.0. We've increased our funding by 25% which has helped us to invest more into current productions, and start on some really exciting stuff I can't talk about yet

It's been a busy month behind the scenes here at Noclip and I wanted to let you know what you can look forward to watching during the penultimate month of 2018.

Our Half-Life documentary is deep into production. You can watch a VLOG about how our two weeks on the road went. That doc is coming out this month. We're aiming for November 19th, which is the 20th anniversary of Half-Life's launch. It's possible it might slip a week - if it does we'll drop the trailer that day. It all depends how the coming days of assembly go. I've already edited 5 of the 8 interviews so we're on schedule right now.

The clip attached to this post is from Esteban's Victor “Spooky” Fontanez Profile which will be going live this month too. It's a fascinating peak into the ever-interesting Fighting Game Community with some great insight into the history of video game streaming. Even if you've never heard of Victor, the story is a must-watch. Esteban has been working hard on it for a while. We're both very excited to share it soon.

Our final doc from our time at Bethesda is being pushed back a little. We'll aim to get it out this month but it might get pushed into December as other stuff takes priority. There's no shortage of Bethesda stuff to watch on the channel right now anyway, right? We'll keep you updated.

We currently have two podcasts in post-production. The first is a look at 10 Years of Giant Bomb dot com with Jeff Gerstmann. The other is a look at the portrayal of Islamic culture & Muslim people in games with Rami Ismail. Still not sure which one will come first, but we're gonna get one out this month and one in December.

We recorded a bunch of fun, shorter features while on our Project Mesa trip. These include an interview with Geoff Keighly about his work on The Game Awards, and a chat with Cory Barlog about the reception to God of War. We'll also have some extended interviews from that series. I imagine we'll do them for Randy Pitchford and Laura Michet at the very least. So early access folks are going to have a lot of stuff coming their way this month.

I'm going to be streaming as part of Giant Bomb's annual Extra Life push. This will be my (7th?) year streaming for the charity for one website or another. I'm going to to speed-running Half-Life on Tuesday night from 9PM Eastern until 9AM the following morning. I'll post an update on here so you can watch if you so please! Also, more VLOGs on my personal channel because their creatively satiating and take me so little time.

We've got a really interesting project launching in December that you won't know about until early next month. It involves a decent amount of filming this month and is a direct result of some of the extra funding we got during last month's 2.0 push. So thank you again for the incredible support. We're also in talks with a bunch of folks about historical docs and hope to have something confirmed soon. Also, looks like we're back in Europe in January so keep your eyes peeled for that!

We'll have a bunch of editing livestreams over the next two weeks and a Patron show next week so expect posts for all of that if you're in those tiers. I've probably forgotten about something. If so check The Patron Show next week :)

Otherwise if you have any questions, please stick them in the comments below.

Hard at work over here, fun stuff incoming!

Talk soon,
Danny

I watch everything so fast that you produce, but looking at a list it really looks like a packed month! Looking forward to the Half Life doc in particular and the extended interviews that will come with it.

Sounds good to me!

I appreciate that Melty Blood got namedropped before the end of the year lol, gotta jot down French BreadType Moon's whole trajectory as a doc subject too, man! Not all indie devs go from tiny VNs and indie fighting games to multimedia empires

Blooper

Im still interested in seeing the Quake stuff from ID, how likely is that to ever surface at this point?

Harribo

Proud patron as always

Looking forward to the editing live streams and interviews. Jeff in particular has always exuded a good work ethic towards framing the conversation around games media in general in a positive manner. Happy to have jumped on board for the 2.0! Cheers from Kentucky!

Brock Smith

Great stuff. Looking forward to more interviews and personal vlogs (they're a ton of fun!) Keep up the good work. You and the team are killing it!

Connor Swenke

This all sounds great, you folks are kicking ass! Keep it up!
