Baldur's Gate - The Elfsong Tavern

  As you step into the Elfsong Tavern, the warm glow of lanterns and the soft murmur of conversations envelop you, providing a stark contrast to the bustling streets outside. The scent of roasted meats and freshly baked bread mingles with the fragrant smoke from the hearth, creating an inviting atmosphere. The walls, though showing signs of age, are adorned with intricate elven tapestries and relics from distant lands, hinting at the tavern’s once grand history.

Yet it’s the ethereal melody that truly captures your attention—a hauntingly beautiful song sung by an unseen elven spirit. The patrons are entranced by the music, some lost in thought. However, among them, you notice darker figures lurking in the shadows, their eyes scanning the room with suspicion. At the entrance, two grim-faced bouncers, a animated armor and a half-ogre woman stand watch, their steely gazes deterring any troublemakers.

Note from Beneos

Many will notice that the original Elfsong Tavern does not have a roof, only two floors. However, I find the exotic architecture of the iconic tavern in Baldur's Gate 3, which enchanted so many players, very appealing and have drawn inspiration from it for the rooftop terrace. This adaptation also makes this location more versatile. You can host a ceremony or wedding on the rooftop, or use it as an optional entry point for break-ins and attacks.
