 Breath clouding in the chilled air

The cold mountain air bites at your skin as the mist clings to the ground, swirling in tendrils that seem to reach for you like ghostly hands. The forest looms, dense and ancient, pressing in from all sides, and the thick fog blankets everything, smothering any sense of direction or safety. Ahead, the dirt path splits in two. To the east, faint glimmers of cobblestone peek through the creeping mist, as though the earth itself is revealing something long forgotten.

Suddenly, emerging from the fog, you see it: a large black carriage, motionless yet full of presence, drawn by two immense black horses. The beasts stand unnervingly still, their breath clouding in the chilled air. The carriage door swings open with a slow, deliberate creak, as though anticipating your arrival, inviting you inside without a word. It waits.
