Project Plan November
Added 2024-10-28 11:27:15 +0000 UTCOur journey to the good ending continues! The big goal of this month: Completing the Demon General related dungeons for Richard's Domain. I will just spoil here that after those there will be an 8th level that will be more narrative focused and feature a guest appearance of a certain other character; building up to the final battle. Our focus on the Final Dungeon gives us a straight-forward plan.
Week 1: I will be immediately continuing my work from last week by adding the next domain level after Envy. Our mapper finished the map last week, although it's not quite how I imagined it so I will probably need to do some iterating today. Other than that, since you need to kill the Demon General of Gluttony, I don't need to add story variations for killing him in the Domain, making it a hopefully easy to add level where I can finish a day early. Should that happen, I will be trying to do some work on the the remaining missing skills.
Week 2: Since this is a 5-dev-week, I will be taking one week of vacation. Due to the upcoming release, I do need to continue doing at least some work. I was planning on closing out the remaining skills with the trainer options to learn them. There aren't a lot left and hopefully I can already get started on this in Week 1, so that shouldn't take a lot of time. Finally, I will just be doing some simple concept work to prep for the Final Battle next month.
Otherwise, vacation days. :) I have been playing some Metaphor in my freetime and hope to finish the game in this week. Star Knightess Aura having quite a lot of inspiration from the Persona series, I hope I can also take a away a couple of things for my own gamedev.
Week 3: And then we are back to Richard's Domain, this time with Asmodeus' level, where I will need to deal with the possibility of Asmodeus getting killed outside of the Maid Academy, so that will probably take the full week.
Week 4: Then it's polish week. I will be doing some more experimenting on trying to get the World Fog to look more how I have it in mind, but if it shouldn't work out, then that's how it is. Either way, I plan to change the default option to ON so new players don't get lost on the full world map with all the places you can't enter. Besides that, I plan to support the development of the Clockwork Forest area, probably mostly focusing on iterating a bit on the dungeons.
Week 5: And then once more, Richard's Domain, this time closing out the Pride Domain. Again, I will need to deal with the possibility of killing Lucifer during the middle of his quest, I will be needing the full week for this one.
From our freelancers, things are just moving forward as usual.

RPGMaker Dev
While the Patreon hasn't been going too well in the past month, our itch.io sales picked up quite a bit since the switch to the demo. The extra budget I decided to invest into our Assistant Developer Trihan, raising the monthly budget from 500€/Month to 900€/Month. I hope that with the extra budget, he can finish the remaining items on his todo list.
2D Art
No changes in the art plan here either; I hope we can get the shaded version of the Liliana 2 scene into this week's prerelease and then we will be able to start the art production for the CGs of the Corruption Ending.
Aaaaand that's the plan for November! I guess with the game coming this close to 1.0 I also need to finally figure out the right time to give a review build for steam. They stipulate that the game must be "nearly complete", so I hope that the level of completion by the end of November fulfills that condition. The problem being that we need to start the implementation of the Steam connection and Achievements at some point and I would rather only start work on that if we know that we are accepted or rejected. Anyways, see you latest on Nov 1st for the next prerelease post!
