Project Plan December

We approach one of those months where development from my side will be 100% focused on one event: The Final Battle. After that, only the Epilogue remains and the good ending will be done!

I will try to give enough information so you will know what to expect this month, without trying to be too spoilery. The most important information is probably the following: If we were to compare the Final Battle with the Reverse Summoning Ritual, we have now moved past the dungeon crawling section and are now at the counterpart of the narrative sections. There will be three segments to the final battle: Goddess, Curse, Richard. Let's take a quick look into them!

 

Week 1: First week will mostly be concept work. I have been able to sneak some into the previous dev cycles, but not as much as I would have liked. I will be mostly expanding my flowcharts for the event, writing some core dialogue I would like to present and then finally start stubbing out the map for the first segment. Not sure if it will be possible to enter it. I'm also assuming our artist Emubi will finish the shading of the currently in progress h-cg, so integrating that will mostly likely also be a part of the week.

Week 2: The first segment will focus on the Royan Goddess and give some more background info on her and her backstory. Most likely some of it in the form of the memory fragments I used in the Reverse Summong Ritual. Possibly there will be some miniboss battles, maybe not. As I mentioned, the dungeon crawling phase is over so definitely no regular encounters.

Week 3: The second segment will be the point-of-no-return and focus on Aura's curse and realizing its effects. I would like to have some key variations here based on where she stands in the corruption storyline. In particular, in terms of Vice actions. I still need to see how much I can differentiate here, but at the minimum there would be a high-vice variation. I will also spoil here that there might a Luciela boss battle here - again maybe not. :'D There are still a lot of details where I'm not sure which route I will be going with and probably won't know until I have iterated on my concept work in week 1.

Week 4: Finally, the third segment will contain the actual titular Final Battle against Richard. The way I imagine it, it will be quite different from the regular battles we had until now. It could also be that how I envision it to work to be terrible and that I have to redesign it; once again, we will have to see. :'D

I will also warn here that I am currently quite unsure that I can finish the Final Battle in its entirety due to the christmal holidays being in this week. I was hoping I could have completed the concept work from week 1 before this update and scheduled two weeks for segment 3 in December, but alas, I deemed the various smaller improvements I have been adding here and there to be of higher value.

Either way, the actual aftermath of the Final Battle in form of the good ending epilogue would be for next month. Aaand that's the plan for the month! On the side of our assistants, there are no planned changes from their course of last month.

Hell yes! I'm so happy to see the progress being done on this game and super excited to be able to play it in its entirety. Easily one of the best H games I've ever played.
