Clearing

On her right hand was a golden shotgun.

On her left hand was a golden sword.

Alfie was running around inside a forest in a dress. She aimed her shotgun to a pirate leader and pulled the trigger.

She also swung her sword around for dealing additional damage. Then she kicked the enemy when it stopped moving.

Alfie fundamentally didn’t master any of her job with sword, gun, and also martial art to the extreme.

But, the talent that she possessed was in different level than others.

Although she had rough fighting style, she understood what she had to do to win using her senses.

The big nosed pirate came at Alfie and pointed the cannon that was installed in its hand toward Alfie.

「YOU BITCHHHHH!」

His face was red and his expression looked furious. They all looked realistic.

Alfie stepped aside to dodge and rolled on the ground.

Her party that was on standby behind her, the guild members rained down their attacks on the boss.

「Come on, you are too slow!」

Alfie’s build wasn’t specialized for anything, but she was overwhelming the boss with her player skill.

The effect of her paid items were also playing a big part, but her capability to handle them well couldn’t be dismissed.

Her sword landed three hits with just a single swing.

Next she used her shotgun until her skill became usable again before she kicked away the boss and executed her skill.

Her movement was flowing well from one move to the next.

Guruguru was readying his bow and arrow, and when he shot, Alfie moved to the side as though she had eyes behind her head.

「Alfie-neechan is so cool.」

Guruguru watched in astonishment before Sierra whacked his head with her staff.

「Apologize properly!」

Nanako and the other close quarter combatants were watching Alfie’s fight.

「Alfie-san is really strong.」

Nanako looked impressed. Alfie took a back step to open the distance from the boss.

The next close quarter combatants hurriedly moved forward to replace her, but their movements were bad unlike Alfie.

「It’s really rude that you guys were doubting me. Despite my look I  have been a player for one year――which translate to double that inside  the game.」

There were changes to the flow of time inside the game midways, even  so the time that she had spent inside the game wasn’t just one year.

It had been three to four years――and that time would become even longer from here on.

Anyone who had talent like Alfie would naturally become used with the game.

Sierra healed Alfie and applied support magic on her while asking a question.

Around them, other guild members were fighting the boss while giving backup to allies or using item.

But, there were many rookies among them who weren’t used to the atmosphere.

Their coordination with each other was bad.

「Alfie-san, are you perhaps strong enough to be in the clearing group or even a top player?」

She felt like Alfie had enough talent for that.

However Alfie denied that and rested her shotgun on her shoulder.

「What’s the point of that? I just want to have fun playing around. As  expected there’s no way I’ll offer my life just for game――」

Alfie came to a realization after speaking that far.

(At this rate, the time that I’m spending here might become longer than my actual life.)

Then the virtual life would stop existing for the sake of real life,  instead it was the real life that would exist for the sake of virtual  life. Alfie could understand now why people who held such value were  increasing in number.

Blaze’s party had crushed a pirate leader and obtained a key.

The fortress that the leaders were using contained considerable amount of items and treasures.

The treasures themselves were only nice in appearance without any particular effect as item.

If they were sold then they could be exchanged with game currency.

However, things like gold or jewel had this raw charm to them.

One of Blaze’s friends picked up a gold coin.

「How should I say it, we’ll make a killing if we can bring this to RL.」

He scooped up the coins in his hands and then let them fell down. The  sensation of the coins and the clinking sound felt very real.

Blaze looked exasperated even while picking up a gold coin himself.

「I guess. Even so, the treasures look pretty detailed. Even though  before this if you open a treasure box you will only able to touch the  surface……」

Various things were becoming realistic here in order to pursue after realism.

The sensation when getting hurt. Pain. Heat.

The pain of broken bone for example, it had been softened drastically because it was just a game but it still felt unpleasant.

Blaze’s friends were checking the items.

「This one is rare item but, is it okay for us to take it?」

The rule was that the items inside the fortress fundamentally got split among the party that conquered it.

The reward for the whole guild members would only be from the pirate island’s treasure.

「Yeah, it’s alright. For now we will gather them all and split them  later but……it’ll be more convenient to hand over the material items.」

It would be a different matter if they had a specific equipment or  tool in mind that they wanted to create, but fundamentally it would be  better to hand unrelated materials and the like to Lighter and co.

His friends thought for a bit.

「Then, we’re going to exchange them for money and split it up?」

「Let’s split them up after going back to the base.」

「There isn’t any material here that we want anyway.」

Blaze picked up one of the materials.

(Those who want this will even pay with real money to get their hand on it though.)

But, they simply didn’t need it.

(Come to think of it, apparently there are also some guys who do  direct transaction using point recently. Guess this kind of problem is  just impossible to erase.)

Player was purchasing point when exchanging real money in this game.

The purchased point could be used to obtain item and the like. Blaze  recalled that trading using that point was starting to increase.

Blaze himself often wanted to solve his problem with real money when there was material that he wanted to get.

(It feels like looking at myself not long ago……no, it feels like this thing is getting even more radical than that.)

The party with Fran and Noin in it got obliterated once when facing against a pirate leader.

They came back and formed a plan with the two as the core but, the level that they had lost was painful.

Fran took off her helm. Her hair fluttered.

「Noin, cover up the whole party more.」

「You’re saying that Fran-chan even though you’re charging alone by  yourself? I think it’s also wrong to go off alone like that. Or rather,  isn’t Fran-chan’s affinity with this boss bad?」

The pirate leader was a type of enemy that fought mainly using magic.

Fran was a pure warrior type, however it didn’t mean that she was  completely at disadvantage against such enemy. Even so it was a fact  that her way of fighting and her equipments weren’t really suited for  this kind of enemy.

「I should be able to last for five minutes with your support. Even so we really pulled the short end of the stick here.」

From the start the position and the type of the bosses were randomized.

Fran wouldn’t have any trouble with any other boss, but in the end  she encountered a type of opponent that she disliked the most.

Noin was also sulking while holding her staff.

「Let’s just call Ponsuke-kun here. Tell him that it’s absolutely disadvantageous for us here.」

Noin grabbed on Fran with her head shaking so much that her long blue hair became disheveled.

「Fran-chan you meanie! You’re just trying to be alone with  Ponsuke-kun while making me out to be the bad guy! I absolutely won’t  allow that!」

「Let go! Besides, it’s always you――」

Their party members were watching the two who started arguing with troubled looks.

「Again.」

「Those two, they’re especially terrible lately.」

「We’ll be causing troubles for the other groups at this rate. Let’s think of a plan.」

「We had died once and got some weapons for countermeasure too. Perhaps we’ll manage somehow.」

「Our craftsmen are skilled and reliable huh. Only at this kind of time though.」

「Then, those with magic resistance go forward――」

The other members ignored the quarreling duo and formed a plan. They then defeated the boss safely.

The guild members had finished defeating the pirate leaders.

But, Fran and Noin were made to sit on their knees on the beach.

Inaho was watching them.

「……Those two, they feel like polar opposite somehow.」

Noin who was looking sad from getting scolded by Ponsuke.

Fran who was looking happy from getting scolded by Ponsuke.

Prey and the other orcs started having discussion after seeing Fran’s reaction.

「Do you think she’s someone in our side?」

「Don’t look so troubled. It depends on Ponsuke?」

「As expected, should we draw her in?」

Everyone thought that they were having their usual good-for-nothing  conversation so they were ignored. The other members had also finished  fighting the bosses and no monster came out anymore, so they were taking  a break.

There was no physical fatigue inside game, even so they still felt mentally exhausted.

Inaho looked around.

Everyone was making various preparations. It seemed they wanted to make merry in the beach.

「We had also gotten the pirates’ treasures. We have worked hard enough already for today.」

The pirate island’s treasure was hidden at the center of the island.

They entered inside the mountain using the keys and then found a lake inside.

The treasure of the pirates was hidden inside that lake, a mountain  of them. The most important thing, the guild item was held by a stone  statue.

Well, they took several days to reach this island.

After that it took them one whole day to clear the pirates.

Everyone joined in when it was time to go to the location of the treasure and collecting it, so it also took a bit extra time.

「With a hundred people moving in big crowd like that, it felt like  sightseeing rather than exploration. The atmosphere just didn’t match.」

Lily’s fault finding continued.

「Well, the mechanism or the cutscene were interesting but, it  certainly lacked excitement. But, if I’m asked whether I want a boss to  appear there and fight it……」

If Inaho could be honest, it would be tiring if the event went any longer than that.

But, Lily shrugged.

「It was unexpectedly fun that such part made me excessively bothered. I wonder if anything can be done to improve this event.」

Inaho felt happy because Lily looked like she really had fun with the game.

「Let’s report it to the dev. Where is the option……ah, here in the status screen……」

Inaho made her status screen appeared midair and she explained.

Lily immediately checked her status screen.

Her screen was displayed with English language.

(Ah, Lily-san really is a foreigner.)

Inaho watched Lily writing her report seriously while walking toward the beach――she took a look at the sunset.

There were also many other players sitting on the beach watching the sunset.
