Discussion: Revamping WTDL Patreon Work Duration

Hello every Lurker, Libra here from WTDL. Hope you have a hell of a day, and you're making the best of it!

I'm writing this post to make both make an announcement and to open up discussion with you the players.

First the announcement, it's with most sincere regret that I have to announce that Kibbleton University's update will take a bit more time to complete. Meaning we will be releasing the KU update in September instead. This is to ensure that our programmer has sufficient time to work on the update. Patrons who do not plan to renew their subscription need not worry, if you have been a supporter during the month of July, August and September we will DM you the link to the update via Patreon.

Here comes the discussion:

Taking a look back at this year's updates I must acknowledge that we have had difficulties pushing updates within the two-month period as we had advertised. Though we have not received complaints, I wanted to take this opportunity to open a discussion about our duration of work on the updates.

After reviewing with other members of the team, it is proposed that we make officially raise the working duration to 2.5 months. In terms of timeline this is what it will look like:

OLD TIMELINE:
Month 1-1.5 (Writing) > Month 1.5- 2 (Editing + Programming+ Patreon Update Release)

PROPOSED NEW TIMELINE:
Month 1 -1.5 (Writing) >Month 1.5-2 (Editing +Programming)> Month 2.5 (Patreon Update Release)

WHY THE NEW TIMELINE?
The new timeline comes because of a few factors:

• It's to more accurately reflect the increasing workload of each update. As WTDL and KU progresses, more set pieces are needed for each update. This added workload requires more time for polishing and making sure they work. Additionally, our members are constantly striving to improve their skills, as evident by the quality of the CGs and animations programmed in, to continue to improve it is only natural that more time is needed.

• Some may know that the team in WTDL/KU are also members in other VNs. Although this game's development is not dependent on other VNs, it must be acknowledged that our responsibilities outside of WTDL/KU development does affect the amount of time we can commit here, but we do want to give you the best updates that we can.

WHAT WILL CHANGE FOR THE PATRONS?

Ultimately nothing, we don't think a change in reward system is needed. It's just we ask for more time to properly deliver the updates and we want to make it official so it does not send the wrong message about how we work.

Of course, this decision is not final, I would love to hear from everyone, what are your thoughts on this before a change is implemented? Please reply in the comments and I'll go through them with the team. Do you like or dislike this proposed change? Are there other structures you would prefer?
