I always really struggled to get into this episode because that is the same actor from the ‘Anne’ episode of Buffy where she fights her way out of hell. Anyway. That character was so clearly imprinted upon my brain that he walked into Angel Investigations and I was instantly yelling “Ken! Ken survived being brained and impaled! Guys! It’s Ken!” It wasn’t Ken. My wee brain could not fathom.

2025-07-16 23:40:19 +0000 UTCI quite like this episode primarily because we learn more about Doyle's past and I was quite curious about it. It is still funny but it introduces some very interesting topics such as self acceptance (especially when you're mixed-raced) and cultural assimilation vs keeping your traditions alive (which is a touchy topic depending on the traditions themselves). The only issue I have is the episode only mentions those topics and never tries to do anything about them. But I imagine it was not the time nor the place to do so. That being said, not every episode has to have something big to say. It was entertaining and heavy character-centered which is always a good thing IMO. Enjoyed the video as always. Buckle up Tyler because I think the 3 next episodes (in both shows) are quite a ride. Take care of yourself
