2025-08-05 10:36:21 +0000 UTCLove your reaction but completely disagree with you. I never liked Angel and Buffy together, and to me this episode solidified why they don’t work. Angel not waking up Buffy (the freaking Slayer!) to kill a demon while he’s human and it’s her literal job and not consulting her about turning back time is so disrespectful and shows he doesn’t see her as an equal for me. I know it’s his show and I understand why the story had to go there for the show’s continuity but for the characters living in that world? Buffy’s the Slayer, meaning in that situation she’s the boss, and as always he undermined her and took away her agency. Took away her power. And I also think that last scene before the day starts again was so mean. The day would be swallowed anyway, why hurt her and spend the last moments together with her desperate and crying and hurting? It’s the freaking prom all over again and a classic abuser move. Never letting her truly go, no clean breaks, rubbing salt in the wounds… To me that behaviour (and the creepy predatory early seasons) goes to show that the line between Angel and Angelus is not that clear cut.
