As usual, I appreciated your comments a lot.
You don't have to justify yourself about how the show is making you feel. I know I will only have a final opinion once I will see the final episode. The pacing seems a little slower than the first season but maybe it is because we are already familiar with the concept and world building of Severance. I still think it is one of the best show I've seen since the beginning of the 2020's but I have a lot of shows I wanted to see and didn't have time to so maybe I'm a little biased.
And I don't think you're nitpicking, you're just using too many big words π
For the next big show (I mean the next show with multiple seasons), I still advocate for The Expanse because it is the best sci fi show ever in my opinion (and I have seen a lot of SF shows) and the fanbase is pretty strong so I think it will do well as far as the number of views you should expect.
Severance season 2 finale now awaits. Until then, take care of yourself.

I really like the way the show builds sympathy for Milchick in this season - in keeping with the themes of how ridiculous and restrictive the workplace culture we've created for ourselves is, I think it showcases how everyone suffers under those conditions - even middle management are forced to become a workplace drone rather than an individual - told to speak and behave a certain way, and then told they should feel grateful for tokenistic displays of gratitude, which only results in them taking things out on the people they have power over.
I have similar issues with this season to you - I feel like they widened things out too much, and should have kept focus on the workplace analogy and the innie rights commentary. I LOVE the Gemma-centric episode, but I do think that pacing-wise, either 2x07 or 2x08 should have been moved elsewhere - this episode does feel like buildup to the next, and a buildup episode after two episodes focused solely on individual characters away from the main storyline does really slow things down.
Fun fact: Miss Huang's actress has just been announced as a main cast member for the new Buffy series!
