Ok, I just watched where you said someone called you a misogynist for criticizing Willow and I must protest. I don't know where that came from, but knowing this show, I can't perceive how that person came to that conclusion. On the contrary, I've seen your reaction to various things, mostly Buffy. And I have to say that based on what I've seen, there are very few YouTube reactors I trust to watch this series and see the characters for exactly who they are and not be overly judgemental. And you are one I trust. Your observations about Willow are completely valid and obviously paying off. And I agree with your observations about Oz and SA. But it isn't talked about much, from the conversations I've seen. Buffy fans are protective of their fandom, and I get that. But, it isn't fair to me that anyone thinks you are being judgemental based on gender or sex. Trying to look at this episode alone, Willow cutting Buffy off is so interesting. "If I had any real power, I coulda made Oz stay with me." "Will, you wouldn't have wanted him to have stay becau-" "And I didn't have the guts to do the spell on Veruca." Like… damn… And the actress who played Amy showing up naked for 2 seconds is wild lol. Kudos to her.

I just wanted to say that I agree with you regarding your observations about willow and that your comments in that last video were valid and objective. I think the issue with willow I see a lot in the fandom being protective comes from a lot of emotional leverage built in her character. She’s very well liked by many and a big favourite in the fandom. And a lot of her flaws are overlooked or excused by viewers and fans. Personally I totally agree with you and I have watched the show many times over in the 25 years since it came out and generally am pretty open minded with characters. I 100% agree with your assessment and think in no way have you been unfair. I think you are actually much more observant and neutral than most of the audience. So I wouldn’t stress too much over it. You give great commentary and I really enjoy hearing your ideas and observations. The show generally presents conflict often from a reasonably neutral position, ie doesn’t always give you a black and white right/wrong camp. So it’s possible to see conflict from all sides and you generally try to do that. A lot of media will often very much present things in a black/white way. This show is actually great at giving you lots of information and sides and allows the audience to discuss what it means. Without taking a strong stance one way or another. I believe it’s also why it’s stood up well. Allows audiences to think about the various characters experiences in a much more organic and human way. And allows you to empathise with all parties and see fault in all parties. What often happens however is fans will get on one characters bandwagon or another and there is a lot of different camps of opinions in the fandom. So I wouldn’t be too upset by a few people taking things personally. It’s actually a testament to the show in how much leverage these characters have with the audience because people will often feel very strongly about characters they like/identify with. 😉
