An almost perfect episode IMO.
The writing is on fire. So many lines can be understood in multiple ways. The idea of changing bodies to explore Faith psyche is really great. On top of that the acting is superb especially from SMG who is brilliant in this.
Faith is an interesting character and I do believe as well she is on the way to a real change. What she thought would be just an exit way for her made her experience life in a completely different way and I'm sure she learned a lot about herself during the process. But, as we saw during the church fight, what she discovered (or just confirmed) about herself is not very flattering. I like that the episode ends with her on the move because she is at a crossroad in her life now and nobody can predict (and specially not Faith herself) which way she will choose.
One of my favorite line is "because it's wrong". I love the evolution of its use by Faith. It begins as a way of parroting Buffy, then it is used to mock her and finally Faith said it believing it. Finally she is able to understand Buffy's point of view. Once again fantastic writing and acting.
I agree with you about Riley. He is very sweet and caring during his scene with Faith but also in his last scene with Buffy. He has just found out that he was sexually abused but the first thing he thinks about is Buffy's reaction and he tries immediately to reassure her about his feelings for her.
I liked your observation about how Adam's search for his identity reflects the ones the other characters are doing. I never really thought about it before but it is obvious now you mentioned it. I also agree on how disappointing the result seems to be...
Finally, Tara and Willow are so cute. Tara rapidly became my favorite character when I saw the show for the first time. I was able to relate to her so much. We didn't use to have such a good representation of a queer character at the time. The network forbade Whedon to show a kiss between Tara and Willow. They agreed on the Tara / Willow relationship (reluctantly I guess) but they were only allowed to hold hands. So Joss decided to add the magic sex scene. Nothing was adamant in the script and when the episode was shot, it was impossible to shoot it again (the schedules were insane and it would have cost too much). They could have deleted the scene entirely but it is quite long and it would have raised questions so I think they chose to let it in the episode eventually.
Don't be embarrassed about making squeaky noises when Tara does or says something cute or kind (or just is on the screen) because we all did the same. To be honest I still do to this day 😄
Great video from you Tyler. I know you enjoyed the show from the start but could you have predicted during season 1 that such a fascinating psychological episode will happen? Incredible how the characters and the show in general matured in only 3 years (and no spoilers but it is just the beginning).
I hope you're doing well and, until next episode, take care of yourself.

That little moment when Faith freaks out after Riley says “I love you” always breaks my heart. Where she asks him what he wants from Buffy. And you realise that, in the whole world, Buffy is probably still her favourite person when you get down to it. And how deeply messed up that is.
