If you could only have one species & type for the rest of your days, what would it be?

2024-11-26 00:46:35 +0000 UTCThis one may be more for Patty (btw, miss her talking parrot food and health so much ❤️), but here it goes: I wonder what your thoughts are on milk thistle oil and giving it to parrots occasionally (a few drops over seasonal feeding) as preventative for liver problems?

2024-11-24 19:40:40 +0000 UTCI'm getting vibes that my green cheek would be happier overall with a buddy. (To increase his quality of life, not replace training and proper husbandry) I am not keen, however, on adding another conure to my flock (cus one is enough, ya know!) I am interested in adding a budgie. What are your opinions on safety with a budgie and conure together? (And I know this is a loaded question and greatly depends on the birds- sorry in advance!)

2024-11-24 01:04:20 +0000 UTCHeavy question….. How to know if you are pushing too much with your bird….. Male galah, 31y , was a breeding bird and did a bunch of home…. Will be 3y in February that he is with me…… Silly me! I had this expectation that I would make him come out of his shell, and be somewhat a “normal” “silly” galah….. Well, after working with Kim, and still am….we did amazing progress, but it’s still very far from my idea of owning a galah…… I realize now, he will never be silly, funny and naughty like most, but more of a serious cautious type …Mostly du to his past. Definitely need to readjusted my expectations! I was so sure with training, proper sleep and diet he will completely turn around….. I don’t think it will ever be the case……I am afraid I am pushing too much to convince him that my way of seeing things is better then his….. I am wondering when it’s time to stop trying to train and let the bird be his old way….. I feel I am in this battle about trying to convince him to interact and doing behaviour for me , is the way to go….. As much progress as we got, there is as much guilt for pushing a relationship, I am not sure he wants to have …… You have done many project birds so maybe you have some input on this :) Should I continue or let him be?

2024-11-20 02:33:37 +0000 UTCIf there is one thing that you could stress to someone looking in to getting a bird what would it be (besides doing research)?

2024-11-17 20:21:09 +0000 UTCHi There! I would like to get new carpet in my house. I would also like to paint. Are there concerns with either of these regarding off gassing or fumes that could be a hazard to Green Cheek Conure Kimber. Thanks!
