2021-05-17 19:57:53 +0000 UTCInfodump: The Rokkaku incident that is referenced in 186-187 is based on the Ikedaya incident, in which the Shinsengumi stormed the Ikedaya inn on a tip that joi rebels were there to plan a major arson on the city of Kyoto. 8 joi and 1 shinsengumi were killed in the brawl. It should be noted that recently the case has been looked at with more scrutiny, as A: warrants were not a thing at time so the Shinsengumi didn’t use one B: The Shinsengumi learned of the plot only after Hijikata allegedly tortured a captured Joi for multiple hours.
