Unlike the Shinsengumi, which was made up of low-class ronin and wannabe samurai, the Mimawarigumi’s members were all elite, high ranking people of society with connections. As such, while the Shinsengumi’s patrol territory were middle to lower class neighborhoods, the Mimawarigumi’s territory were rich neighborhoods, including the imperial palace district. -Sasaki Isaburo is based on the IRL leader of the Mimawarigumi, Sasaki Tadasaburo. He was the adopted son of a direct retainer to the Shogun (And thus, very high-status). -Imai Nobume is based on a genderbent (as women could not be samurai) version of Imai Noburo, a high ranking member of the Mimawarigumi. -Sasaki Tetsunosuke is based on Ichimura Tetsunosuke, the IRL Hijikata Toshizo’s page. IRL, he had no relation to the Mimawarigumi/Sasaki Tadasaburo. -The leader of the Check it out Gang: “Eni Men” is a parody of the rapper “Eminem.”
