Infodump: Episode 248: -Obvious parody of both the great movie “Slumdog Millionaire” and famous game show “Who wants to be a Millionaire!” -¥10 million yen is roughly $91,000 in today’s currency (¥1 is worth $0.0091, less than 1¢). Gintama is set in the late 1850s/early 60s, though yen was first used in 1871. Back then it was virtually equivalent to the dollar, so it would’ve been $10 million back then (the Yen lost an insane amount of value when Japan lost WW2, and again with the Japanese recession of the 1990s). Episode 249: -Gedoumaru's Seiyuu/VA Ayako Kawasumi is well known to be the voice of Saber/Artoria Pendragon from the Fate Franchise. This was referenced when Gintoki randomly cried out “Saber!” when Gedoumaru appeared from the TV.
