Gintama watch order poll!

Anime order for sure. This was the order I went with when I first watched. The comedy arcs in between hit more and felt like a deserving break from the serious arcs and a reminder of the comedy aspects of Gintama.

I’d do manga order bro, it’s really REALLY jarring to do anime order. The pole likely just wants to see the serious arc reactions faster.

Honestly, whichever you do is good, I know if you do the comedy arc first, you will have to skip part of the opening episode, and not watch the ending of the last episode, and might have to skip the opening since you are pretty perceptive. Otherwise, I do hope you watch the openings the majority of the time you watch the serious arcs, because they often change due to whatever is going on that episode. Up to you man, do what you think is best!

Yeah the anime order felt really jarring to me and i was anime only too

Why skip now? I mean the serious stuff is great but in order to finish gintama you also have to finish the final movie. The remaining non serious stuff also builds up anime. The anime has a feels completed moment when you finish the last movie unlike naruto and others that for whatever reason are unfinished… (my opinion) Now I will say that I hope you’ll combine the next 2 serious arcs into two uploads as they are about a movie in length.

Just experience it like every Gintama Animeonly has done it back then, I mean you even started with episode 1 ^^ Would be better if there wasnt a slip arc at all, and those arcs were just adapted where they belong. Watching them all together is a bit difficult, since they are not really that great, thats why they didnt made it in the Anime first

I think with all the serious arcs, comedy in the middle provides you with a bit of rest before jumping back into serious again

I said it before, I might explode if I have to wait a couple extra weeks for SA and FS arcs. Besides, Silver Soul arc is relatively long and builds its own tension for its story beats. Hell, the first episode is like a 5 min comedy bit that has nothing to do with the main plot. I waited around a year for it after Rakuyo, 2 or 3 weeks isn't gonna kill Jet's hype for it.
