Work and Life April 2023
Added 2023-05-28 17:42:29 +0000 UTCI do often look for a personal connection in work - whether that be nsfw or sfw. Most of the time, I'm entrusted with very fun ideas, and I would like a more even balance with conversational and sincere pieces like these.
The piece featuring Vibrato (TheRussBuss) is about committing to change. He approached me with the idea of a new him emerging out of his old shell, and there was quite a bit of back and forth on the pose, the atmosphere, the emotions behind this process. Stylistically, the piece also represents a return to inking - which I took as seriously as I could. It motivated me to do many little ink sketches, and I look forward to developing a Patreon tier from those. The style itself was, as usual, inspired by German expressionist woodcuts.
The piece featuring Virion and Losian was meant to be more commemorative of a change in Virion's perspective on life that Losian was a part of. It is set in the City of Nodd's Psylysium district. They have their own website: https://www.cityofnodd.com/ Ultimately, it's about discovery and wonder in a psychedelic (mind-revealing) space. Wanting to combine the vibe of Nodd with my own perspective, I took the architectural features from the Casa Battlo.
