As per usual, I shall begin this long overdue update with yet another Ode/Ted Talk/Epic Saga about how much I fucking LOVE Every. Single. One of You. 

I must must be the luckiest writer to ever luck because, well

 damnnnn.

Ya'll are probably sick of hearing this shit from me by now

But frankly

I don't care.

I'm doin it anyway.

The Fact of the matter is this. You've heard it before you will probably hear it again.

I have the greatest creation support system ever conceived by man monster or myth.

The Subject is Closed and I will not be taking suggestions.

Now, as with any good Ted Talk, I have of course prepared a presentation. Evidence. Because I'm right.

If I'm right about nothing else, I am right about this.

I started this Patreon a little over two years ago now, 

Out of nothing but Reckless Hope and a Foolhardy Dream,

As a Shot in the Dark.

I did it on the off chance– on the Fool's Chance, that I might Live on what I Love.

I've seen some of the worst humanity has to offer, and to be honest, I was expecting to see a fair bit of it in this, in this chance I took with this piece of myself. People can be cruel. Needlessly and Relentlessly. And I braced myself for that. I took courage and strength from the kind words so many of you offered up for nothing, and I did it anyway. I did it expecting the worst.

But Damn

Did you little shits ever prove me Wrong.

Instead of showing my the worst humanity has to offer, you showed me the best.

You proved to me that people can also be Kind. Needlessly and Relentlessly.

Some of you have only been with me for a few days, like [sdlyz] and [Hanna Weakley], who joined only this week, who were willing to take a chance on faith, on something new, on me.

Others– as matter of fact, a frankly mind boggling amount of you– Have been with my dumb ass Since the Beginning.

And I may be good with words, but even I cannot begin to describe to how that feels– cannot put into words the sheer magnitude of what it means to me.

You... stood by me. Had faith in me when I sometimes had none in myself. Supported me until I knew better than to doubt.

You became the the pillars that propped this story up and rose it up, that lifted the weight off my shoulders so I could breathe. 

You lot know who you are. You better, after all this.

But some things are worth repeating. So here goes.

To my Kage– The the greatest of you, The Ever Patient [Elenor] and to The Steadfast [Duyen Hua], my staunchest supporters, who live up to their titles in every conceivable way.

To my Jounin– First to [Brittney Maddox] and [Száva Bogdán], who were my Vanguard right out of the gate, then to [Kate] and [Danielle W] who hit the ground running and never stopped, and to my newest Jounin ally in [Ajace].

To my Tokujou– First to [Sasha] and [Atlas Does] and [Brenna Trull] and [Jessica Casper] who never gave up on me, not even once, and then to [aryana], [Ashley] and [Shesha], who took all my nonsense in stride and stuck around for more, and of course to [Phlebas] whose thoughts were a privilege to share.

To my Chunin– Too many to name, my army of proof that I'm not crazy, that anything is possible with enough miracles in your corner, and to [Carrie] in particular, to [Angry Gay] and [Dre] and the rest of the comment crew, who's words somehow always manage to put a dumb smile on my face, to [Chancelor Delamare], [Chechidulce] and [Cynthia H], to [Katherine Souratha], [Katie Hess] and [Leslie Stevens], to [MisaGoddes], [Rachel Phares] and [September Brogan] to the pathfinders, and to all those who followed in their footsteps after, that together put a power in my pocket more brilliant and more dangerous than any bomb.

To my Genin– Who always give their all, even when they can't give much, who's spirit matters more to me than any dollar bill ever could. 

To my Ninjas– Who somehow manage to make the smallest support feel like moving mountains, who make me proud to be where I am, no matter what I'm up against.

And finally, last but never least– to my fiercest ally and my dearest fan, To the one who set this whole ball rolling and then refused to stop there. 

To my strongest pillar. And also my First.

To [Annika], who's kindness is bottomless, who's patience is endless, and who has never failed to be there for me with words of encouragement and the greatest of vibes. To the first one nuts enough to think I could do this.

You're Crazy,  by the way.

So crazy in fact, that you were absolutely right.

To all my Ninjas. New and Old, from Genin to Kage.

To my secret weapon, my own personal band of miracles.

Thanks to everybody who stopped by the ballot and threw their little piece of paper into the Goblet of Fire– I get some HARDCORE anxiety about getting you guys the kind of shit you deserve and it's good to know where everyone stands as far as what form you'd like my off-brand nonsense to take

In a massive upset that surprised absolutely no one, myself included, you crazies just want my ass to keep on writing and keep you updated. An interesting close second though was for behind the scenes looks at my process and character inspiration and things like that.

Since "background/behind the scenes" is kind of vague I figured I'd ask.

What EXACTLY it is you're curious about? Process? Inspiration? Prose? The random chunks I toss from the Final Product?
