Upcoming Changes: New Page & More

You may have noticed that we’ve done some polls lately to help us better understand what content you like to see more of. We’ve also sent out messages to former patrons to ask why they left. One thing that became very apparent to us is that we are catering to two different audiences: the people that are here for the town and cities, and the people that are here for the battlemaps. Many people left because only half of the content was what they were actually interested in.
In response we decided to split the page in two: This page will remain Daniel’s Maps for region- and settlement maps. We will also publish a new Patreon page in October called “Daniel’s Battlemaps” for battlemaps.
The current page, Daniel’s Maps, will remain mostly unchanged, besides a few small ones. From October onwards this page will only focus on settlements and regional maps, expanding the lore of Wordal, but also new continents. As such, the Archduke tier will be removed, as it only caters to battlemaps, which will no longer be published here. The most notable change will be that I’ll post 3 maps in the future, instead of the current 4. This is because the maps have to be spread across two pages, and we also do private commissions on the side. To maintain the quality of the maps we decided to decrease the numbers of maps per month.
The new page will be called Daniel’s Battlemaps and goes live in October. This one will focus on battlemaps only. Since this page will be smaller in the early months, we will only release two maps per month, with existing maps from the backlog added in the other weeks for free. From 2024 onwards we hope to have grown the page enough that we can afford to create 3 maps per month.
Before the actual launch of the page we will send out messages as well, with further details regarding the tiers and rewards.
