304. We Are Doomed To Die

The blackness that had obscured half of the cave faded away.

The Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion landed on the ground, raising its proud head.

“Hmph!”

It snorted coldly.

The Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion turned to look at the Snow Maiden.

“Sister, he’s already turned into ice shards, nothing left to see.”

As the words fell, the Snow Empress continued to gaze at the spot where Qian Renjue had been.

“Sister?”

The Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion was puzzled.

It looked back towards the direction where the ice shards scattered.

In its yellow eyes, the image of a black figure appearing through teleportation was reflected.

“How is this possible?! You’re just a mere Soul Saint!”

“And you’re just a beast that has survived three heavenly tribulations. Your death is inevitable.”

Qian Renjue’s pale face grew even paler, but his voice remained steady as the Evil God’s Heart slowly descended and settled between his brows.

“Human! You seek death!”

The Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion roared in fury.

The Snow Empress also frowned, her clear blue eyes filling with sorrow.

She had already endured six heavenly tribulations, but just like Bing’er, her fate was to eventually fall to the heavenly tribulation.

As she watched the Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion charge again, Qian Renjue said nothing.

Behind him, the Evil God's Hook emerged, radiating black light as a black vortex appeared.

He had seen the sorrow in the Snow Empress' eyes.

His lips moved silently, transmitting a secret message.

“I hope that next time I come, you’ll have time to put on some clothes. My apologies.”

Before the sound reached the Snow Empress' ears, Qian Renjue’s figure had already disappeared.

Boom—

The Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion slammed into the wall, getting buried in ice.

The Snow Empress frowned deeply.

Did that human mean he would come again? What was his true intention?

She glanced down at her own bare body.

Does he not find it attractive? Then why did he keep staring?

Strange human.

“Ugh! Ugh!”

“Curse it, since when did the quality of human Soul Saints become so high?”

“To think he dared to look down on me! I’ll swallow him whole!”

Complaints echoed from beneath the ice.

Ice shards swirled, and a figure leapt into the air.

A delicate face, less aloof than the Snow Empress', but full of pride and cold elegance.

On either side of her cheeks were four green magic marks.

She wore an emerald green long dress, her dark green hair cascading down her back.

The parts of her skin that were exposed were as pure as snow, with a translucent quality, faint green light flowing beneath.

“Sister, how did a human end up here?”

The Ice Empress quickly approached, gazing at the Snow Empress' body, about to pounce.

“I don’t know either. He appeared while I was bathing.”

The Snow Empress frowned slightly.

She raised her arm and beckoned. A long dress woven from silken threads fell over her, covering her elegant form.

The Ice Empress' disappointment was evident in her eyes.

Then she exclaimed again.

“Bathing?”

“That vile human! Sister, how could you just stand there and let him watch?”

“He must have been lusting after your body. Truly despicable!”

The Ice Empress gritted her teeth.

Even she hadn’t had the chance to look for that long, only able to sneak a peek.

“He meant no harm.”

The Snow Empress' tone remained calm, merely stating a fact.

“Sister, how can you trust a human?”

The Ice Empress was baffled.

“Didn’t you see the soul rings at his feet? He even fought us.”

“He was only defending himself.”

“Sister, what’s he doing in your home to ‘defend himself’?!”

“...”

The Snow Empress was momentarily stunned.

Bing’er seemed to have a point, but she had her own judgment.

Qian Renjue indeed harbored no ill intent.

The Snow Empress didn’t argue further and, with a wave of her hand, fully restored the cave.

“By the way, Bing’er, why are you here?”

“Of course, I came to play with you, Sister. So you wouldn’t stay here all day.”

The Ice Empress clung to her slender arm.

“The world outside never changes. Aren’t you tired of it yet, Bing’er?”

The Snow Empress' eyes held no worldly desires.

It had been a long time since anything could spark her interest.

But now…

She found herself somewhat looking forward to Qian Renjue’s return.

Her monotonous, eternal life had suddenly rippled with something different.

Near noon.

In Spirit Hall, inside Bibi Dong’s training room.

Qian Renjue sat cross-legged, with Ah Yin wrapped around him like an octopus.

Her body pressed close, her soft form nestled in his embrace.

Although his minor injuries had healed, his heart still burned with an unrelenting heat.

“Master~ Shall I help you?”

Ah Yin retracted her fangs, gently licking the spot where he’d been wounded, her voice seductive.

“You should stop. Go back already.”

Yesterday’s awkward incident was still fresh in his mind.

Qian Renjue didn’t want a repeat. He couldn’t act recklessly at home.

“As you wish~”

Ah Yin, feeling slightly guilty, ceased her advances, wriggling her hips against his leg before disappearing in a line of blood.

Qian Renjue’s face flushed red.

He gritted his teeth.

If this continued, he’d eventually do something to Ah Yin he would regret.

“Hah…”

Qian Renjue calmed himself, controlling his breathing.

It was almost lunchtime; he needed to settle down quickly.

As for the Ice Empress and Snow Empress, he wasn’t in any hurry. After all, he was only at level seventy-five.

Besides, the Snow Empress was clearly much easier to deal with than the Ice Empress.

There would be plenty of opportunities later.

---

Three months passed in a blink.

Inside Douluo Palace, behind Qian Renxue, the six-winged angel had split into nine clones.

Golden shadows filled every direction, moving through various experiences of suffering, joy, sin, and virtue.

Qian Renxue sat cross-legged in midair.

Golden mist enveloped her, her delicate face shifting between compassion and disdain.

One thing was undeniable.

There was now a hint of divinity in Qian Renxue’s expression, something she had never had before.
