390. Half an Obito?

The sky seemed shrouded in a layer of gloom, and a suffocating atmosphere permeated every inch of space.

A dazzling, decisive blade light suddenly appeared, carrying a momentum that seemed capable of severing the world itself.

It shot toward Obito Uchiha with lightning speed, tearing through the air and emitting a sharp, piercing howl, as if the very fabric of space was screaming in agony.

Sensing danger, Obito had already activated Kamui.

A spatial vortex appeared like a gaping maw, swallowing both him and Yagura in an instant.

As they entered the dim, desolate Kamui dimension, the tension beneath Obito's mask finally eased, and he let out a heavy sigh of relief.

Once inside this space, he believed he was absolutely safe. After all, this was a dimension he had created using his Mangekyō Sharingan.

No one could enter without using Kamui, unless... Kakashi had somehow awakened the Mangekyō.

But that was impossible.

Kakashi wasn't an Uchiha, and even wielding a regular Sharingan was a struggle for him, let alone awakening the Mangekyō.

Just as Obito relaxed, thinking he was safe, a blinding white light erupted in the familiar, dark space he had always considered impenetrable.

The light, like the rising sun, instantly dispelled the gloom, illuminating the entire dimension as bright as day.

The terrifying blade light had sliced through the void, cutting through the barriers of space like a sharp lightning bolt, illuminating the Kamui dimension in a breathtaking display.

"How... is this possible?" Obito's vision was filled with the blazing white light.

His pupils dilated in disbelief beneath his mask, and his confidence and arrogance crumbled in an instant.

Despite his years of combat experience and instinctive reflexes, the speed and power of the attack were overwhelming.

It was like the scythe of death, mercilessly cutting through his body and engulfing him in blinding light.

All of this happened in less than a second.

In the world of shinobi, battles could change in the blink of an eye. Life and death often hung by a thread.

As the devastating slash's aftermath slowly dissipated, Obito's figure reappeared.

A horrific slash ran from his right shoulder down to his left thigh, nearly cleaving his body in two.

Blood gushed from the wound, staining the ground beneath him.

Thanks to the powerful life force granted by Hashirama's cells, Obito didn't die immediately.

His chest, now missing a quarter of its mass, heaved violently with each labored breath, blood bubbling with every movement.

Each breath felt like a struggle against death itself.

"I'm... not dead yet..." A faint sense of relief washed over Obito.

But that relief was quickly swallowed by deeper despair.

Even if he wasn't dead, what did it matter?

This was the Kamui dimension, a space only he could enter or exit. No one could come to save him.

Even if he survived now, it would only prolong his suffering...

A wave of bitterness surged in Obito's heart as memories of his past flooded his mind.

He saw himself as the underdog at the ninja academy, weak but full of dreams for the future.

Later, he formed a team with Rin and Kakashi, embarking on missions together.

Though he and Kakashi often bickered and competed, they had come to respect each other.

Rin would always prepare delicious lunches for them and tend to their wounds after battles.

Then came the mission at Kannabi Bridge, where he was crushed by a boulder.

He had given his Sharingan to Kakashi, hoping his friend would protect Rin and use the eye to see a broader world.

But when he finally returned, stronger and determined to save Rin, he witnessed the girl he loved most being pierced through the heart by the very person he trusted most.

In that moment, his world shattered. Indescribable hatred and despair filled his mind. He became utterly disillusioned with the world.

So, Obito chose to inherit Madara Uchiha's legacy, seeking to create a new world—a peaceful one where Rin existed.

As these memories resurfaced, a fierce determination and rage erupted within him.

"No!!"

"I haven't created a world with Rin yet! I can't die here!"

"I must... survive!!"

This powerful will seemed to awaken a hidden reserve of life force within him. His body, as if revitalized, began to recover slightly.

Fueled by this determination and rage, Obito mustered all his strength and activated Kamui once more.

As the spatial vortex reappeared, he vanished from the Kamui dimension with his mutilated body.

The next moment, with the help of Kamui, he reappeared in a cave he had prepared in advance with Black Zetsu.

With a heavy thud, the White Zetsu stationed in the cave immediately reacted.

"Huh? What's this?" One White Zetsu emerged from the cave wall, tilting its head at the figure on the ground.

Another White Zetsu popped out, examining the figure closely before declaring, "This guy looks like... Obito?"

But a third White Zetsu shook its head confidently, correcting, "No, this is half an Obito!"

Hearing their conversation, Obito, who had been about to call for help, passed out.

Meanwhile, Danzō had no idea that Obito was suffering such inhuman torment.

Of course, even if he had known, he would likely have just smiled.

Danzō was a man who held grudges.

Obito's attack during Kushina's childbirth had caused significant losses to Konoha.

Not seeking revenge would be out of character for the "Darkness of the Shinobi."

That said, while Danzō was confident in his latest version of "Divine Severance" and its ability to cut through space, there were few examples like the Kamui dimension in the ninja world.

He hadn't been able to test it in practice.

So, he wasn't entirely sure how much damage that slash had actually done to Obito.

But regardless, that slash was just the beginning.

The real revenge was yet to come.
