299. Double Gain

Hanekawa felt time pass both quickly and slowly.
It was as if he had been dreaming—adrift in turbulent waters like a lone boat. Yet at other times, he was the boatman himself, gripping the oars as he rode the waves.
Snapping back to reality, Hanekawa looked at Kaguya.
She was crouched slightly, her long, pale legs bent to support her graceful figure. Her smooth hair cascaded over her shoulders like silk, spilling onto Hanekawa’s lap.
None of Kaguya’s usual aloofness remained.
Her snow-white eyes were glazed with intoxication, her cheeks faintly flushed. Her heart—and body—were pressed flush against Hanekawa’s, leaving no space between them.
"Kaguya."
After a few minutes, Hanekawa spoke softly. "It’s been ten days. The Shinobi Sect has matters to attend to."
Kaguya licked her lips, reluctant to stop. She leaned down, her face hovering just above his.
"Warm."
She placed a hand on her abdomen, her voice quiet.
Hanekawa nearly gave in to the urge to extend their time together, but he resisted.
Even the most blissful things grew exhausting when condensed into ten relentless days.
"Maybe I should stop calling you ‘Goddess.’"
Hanekawa suddenly smacked her backside—hard.
The crisp sound was followed by the rippling tremors of soft flesh.
"Why?"
Kaguya tilted her head, genuinely puzzled.
Hanekawa could only think that the term "innocent seductress" had been invented solely for her.
Here she was, a woman of insatiable appetite, yet her demeanor remained as serene and clueless as ever.
"Do you remember the meeting with the daimyo?"
Hanekawa changed the subject, gently stroking the smooth curve of her back.
"Yes."
Kaguya rested her weight against him. "It was scheduled for last week. Is it still happening?"
"At least you recall it was supposed to be last week."
Hanekawa laughed, savoring the feel of her skin. "We missed it because of you."
"You deceived me first."
Kaguya corrected him matter-of-factly.
"Fair enough."
Hanekawa coughed lightly. "Then… will you come back to the future with me?"
"Yes."
Kaguya answered without hesitation.
If she hadn’t been willing, she wouldn’t have proposed their ten-day… engagement in the first place.
"Thank you."
Hanekawa was momentarily stunned by her sincerity.
"I enjoy the physical feedback. It’s a wonderful sensation."
Kaguya stated it as plainly as commenting on the weather. "You belong to me. You can’t leave."
"We’ll never be apart."
Hanekawa wrapped an arm around her slender waist, smiling.
Kaguya responded by closing the distance between their lips.
"Time to get up, Kaguya."
A few minutes later, Hanekawa gave her thigh a light squeeze.
Reluctantly, Kaguya disentangled herself from him.
Sitting up, Hanekawa exhaled deeply.
Once again, he was grateful for his Ōtsutsuki-level stamina.
Without it, he’d be utterly drained—weak-limbed and desperate for three straight days of rest.
"Help me dress."
Kaguya raised her arms, presenting her flawless body to him without a hint of shyness.
Hanekawa’s gaze lingered involuntarily.
He marveled at the perks of being a Divine Tree Fruit-enhanced Ōtsutsuki.
After ten days, her skin remained pristine—well, mostly.
His eyes flicked briefly to her abdomen before he stood and headed for the wardrobe.
"Not the shiromuku?"
Kaguya referred to her traditional wedding robe.
"That’s only for the wedding day."
Hanekawa selected a white kimono and returned to her side. "Wear this today."
Kaguya studied him. "When is the daimyo meeting?"
"This afternoon."
Hanekawa raised an eyebrow. "Why? Planning to attend? That doesn’t sound like you."
"I want to give you a gift."
She traced his jawline with her fingers.
Hanekawa was puzzled.
What did a gift have to do with the daimyo?
"Alright."
He decided not to press further. "I’ll look forward to it."
Speaking of gifts, Kaguya had already given him one—a new S-Rank trait.
[S-Rank Trait: World Modulation Mode]
[Activation Condition: Successfully romance Kaguya.]
[Effect: Gain ownership of Amenominaka. Gain Tenseigan.]
He’d acquired this trait ten days ago, but Kaguya hadn’t allowed him time to process it.
Now, reflecting on it, Hanekawa found it somewhat baffling.
Amenominaka was Kaguya’s Kekkei Mōra, derived from her Rinne Sharingan.
Simply put, it was an extraordinary dimensional space.
Kaguya could transport herself and others into it, where six distinct realms existed: the Core Dimension, Lava, Ice, Gravity, Sand, and Acid.
Each realm amplified her abilities accordingly—like manipulating ice in the Frozen Dimension.
The Core Dimension was the most unique, allowing her to absorb chakra from Infinite Tsukuyomi victims to grow stronger.
The trait’s effect—"ownership of Amenominaka"—meant Hanekawa could now access it too.
But he’d be sharing the space with Kaguya.
Hanekawa’s verdict? Hard to judge.
Still, Amenominaka was undoubtedly useful.
Gaining a Rinne Sharingan ability early was certainly an advantage.
"Beautiful as always, no matter what you wear."
Hanekawa admired the kimono-clad Kaguya.
(Though she was just as stunning without it.)
"Your preference is all that matters."
Kaguya had no opinions on clothing. Chakra was her only concern—well, that and Hanekawa now.
"I do prefer this."
He paused. "Not the kimono. You."
"Likewise."
For the first time, Kaguya offered him a faint smile.
Hanekawa froze.
In all their time together, he’d never seen the Rabbit Goddess express anything resembling joy.
Her default aura had always been untouchable divinity.
"Let’s go."
After stealing another kiss, Hanekawa led her outside.
Tsukihime was absent—likely busy at the Shinobi Sect.
"We’re heading to the Sect."
With a flash, the Flying Thunder God Technique transported them to his office.
"The daimyo must be furious by now."
Hanekawa chuckled, eyes closed as he sensed the simmering impatience beyond the walls.
Being stood up for ten days was an unprecedented insult to men of their status.
Yet none dared leave, cowed by Kaguya’s power.
"Ignore them."
Kaguya’s expression didn’t shift.
The only casualty was the goddess’s and the Sect's credibility—a negligible loss when strength ruled supreme.
A flick of Hanekawa’s wrist sent his voice to Tsukihime and Hanewata.
"Dad! Mom!"
Tsukihime burst into the office, vibrating with excitement.
Ten days apart was the longest separation she’d ever endured.
"Goddess. Teacher."
Haori bowed deeply before excusing herself to prepare the delayed meeting.
Hanekawa watched Tsukihime cling to Kaguya, smiling.
Leaving mother and daughter to reunite, he teleported to a secluded area near the Sect.
Tenseigan!
His eyes blazed to life, glowing with an ethereal blue light—like captured starlight.
The Tenseigan was the equal of the Rinnegan, a pinnacle ocular power.
But its lore stemmed solely from the movie featuring Ōtsutsuki Toneri.
In the original timeline, Hagoromo and Hamura had sealed Kaguya and the Gedo Statue on the moon.
To guard the seal, Hamura led a branch of their clan to live there.
After his death, the clan split into main and branch families, warring for millennia until only Toneri remained.
In the movie, Toneri kidnapped Hinata Hyūga to continue his bloodline, stole Hanabi’s Byakugan, and nearly destroyed the shinobi world—only to be "redeemed" by Naruto’s talk-no-jutsu and sent back to the moon.
An ending Hanekawa found laughably lenient for a would-be planet killer.
In the movie, after Toneri transplanted Hanabi Hyuga's Byakugan, he awakened the Tenseigan and demonstrated many of its abilities.
Hanekawa recalled as he raised his hand.
Now that he possessed the Tenseigan and understood its uses, he could experiment with and master them.
The Tenseigan had numerous applications, which could generally be divided into two categories.
One was conventional uses, such as spirit orbs, gravitational and repulsive forces.
The other was techniques used in Tenseigan Chakra Mode, like Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion and Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion.
Undoubtedly, the latter was more difficult.
Concentrating his thoughts, a green chakra sphere emerged in Hanekawa's palm.
It somewhat resembled a Rasengan.
This was a spirit orb.
When implanted in an enemy, it could control their will and actions, or extract their thoughts and memories.
In the original story, Toneri had used this on Hinata Hyuga.
Hanekawa dispersed the spirit orb and aimed his hand at a nearby rock.
With a slight tremor of his Tenseigan,
An invisible gravitational pull yanked the rock into his hand.
He released it,
And under repulsive force, the rock shot like a bullet, striking a tree ahead.
With a boom,
The trunk was pierced, sending wood fragments flying.
Hanekawa pondered.
In terms of gravitational and repulsive applications, it was similar to the Rinnegan.
With sufficient chakra, even celestial bodies could be manipulated.
He continued testing the Tenseigan's abilities,
Experimenting with all techniques except the Tenseigan Chakra Mode.
Many proved quite practical.
Like absorbing an opponent's chakra,
Though this overlapped with the Preta Path ability of the Rinnegan.
It seemed supreme ocular powers shared similarities.
Just then, footsteps approached.
Hanekawa instinctively looked up.
"What kind of eyes are these?"
Kaguya examined the Tenseigan, then said after consideration, "They resemble Byakugan, yet are different."
"They're Tenseigan."
Hanekawa didn't conceal it. "An evolution of the Byakugan."
Their relationship was intimate now - mere ocular powers couldn't affect it.
"Can you awaken them?"
He asked further.
The Tenseigan required Ōtsutsuki lineage plus Hyuga Byakugan.
There was no reason Kaguya couldn't activate it.
The only explanation was her Byakugan already encompassed all Tenseigan functions, making evolution unnecessary.
More accurately, her Byakugan was of a higher tier.
In the original work, various Ōtsutsuki members displayed different ocular abilities.
Take Isshiki for example.
One of his Byakugan mutated into a so-called black eye capable of Sukunahikona and Daikokuten.
While Toneri bore the Ōtsutsuki name, he wasn't pure-blooded.
Neither his lineage nor the Hyuga's Byakugan could match Kaguya's.
Their combined Tenseigan might equal her Byakugan at best, differing only in form.
Of course, another reason existed:
The original author's oversight.
The Tenseigan debuted in a movie set after the Fourth Shinobi War.
Meaning its concept was retroactively added to the lore.
"Let me try."
Kaguya closed her eyes.
Seconds later when they reopened, her Byakugan had transformed into Tenseigan.
But unlike Hanekawa's, hers gleamed gold.
"So the Byakugan has this form."
Kaguya raised both hands.
Green chakra surged, swiftly enveloping her body.
Nine Truth-Seeking Balls materialized behind her.
While normal ones were black, these shone emerald.
Hanekawa's heart raced.
This was Tenseigan Chakra Mode.
"You're still more skilled than me."
He smiled. "I haven't mastered this mode."
His Tenseigan came from the trait system, fundamentally different from Kaguya's natural awakening.
More importantly, her mastery meant he could learn it too.
"I'll teach you."
Kaguya stated coolly.
Bathed in chakra radiance, she appeared every bit the divine goddess.
Yet remembering her behavior these past ten days, Hanekawa felt heat rise within.
Contrast was undoubtedly an appealing trait.
Especially when displayed solely for him.
"Your eyes show desire."
Kaguya stepped closer.
"Wait."
Hanekawa quickly stopped her. "We have the daimyo meeting this afternoon."
"Oh."
A hint of disappointment flashed in her eyes.
She didn't understand his restraint.
Were it her choice, they'd commune for millennia until physically incapable.
"In this matter, you must listen to me."
Hanekawa encircled her waist, emphasizing.
"Why?"
Kaguya licked his neck lightly.
"Because we're married, so you should obey me."
Hanekawa shuddered, hastily adding.
This wasn't an emotionless goddess - she was a temptress incarnate!
Without moderation, problems would inevitably arise.
As Kaguya inhaled his scent, she recalled the book Hanewata had given her.
The shinobi world's feudal era, especially among daimyo and nobility, upheld concepts like wifely submission and polygamy.
"Very well."
Kaguya nodded in agreement.
Hanekawa was taken aback.
So compliant?
Regardless, another ten-day marathon was best avoided.
Even if his body could endure, his mind couldn't.
Especially since he'd been the constant giver.
"Where's Tsukihime?"
He twirled her hair around a finger.
"Training at the Sect square."
Kaguya watched him, restraining her urges.
"The chakra memories I shared contain much about the future."
Hanekawa chose his words carefully. "To avoid altering history, we must restore certain events."
"You mean the Divine Tree?"
Kaguya was far from stupid - her intellect was peerless.
"Yes."
He kissed her forehead. "Will it be difficult for you?"
"Why would it be?"
She replied indifferently. "We can reclaim it after returning to the future."
"Your obedience is almost unsettling."
Hanekawa laughed awkwardly.
"Then reward me."
Kaguya raised a hand, all five fingers extended. "Five days."
"No."
He flicked her forehead.
"No?"
Her expression fell slightly.
"Not five, but three."
Seeing her face, Hanekawa relented.
"When?"
Her eyes brightened instantly.
"Depending on your behavior."
He found the situation both amusing and exasperating.
This was supposed to be the ultimate antagonist.
How had things come to this?
Yet in some ways, it was endearing.
"Let's eat."
He patted her full backside. "The meeting's this afternoon."
They dined at the Sect so Tsukihime could join.
Naturally, Hanekawa cooked.
By afternoon,
The square was arranged with rows of seating.
Daimyo from all fifty nations had arrived punctually.
Compared to the future shinobi world, this number was excessive.
This era's constant warfare prevented any nation from achieving dominance.
Only Hashirama and Madara would eventually unite the lands into the Five Great Nations system.
At 1 PM,
Hanekawa and Kaguya ascended the central platform.
All eyes turned to them.
Though resentful about the ten-day delay, none dared voice complaints before the goddess.
"Welcome, honorable daimyo."
Hanekawa cut to the chase. "Today's agenda is simple: establishing a commission system."
Kaguya stood behind him, staring intently.
She calculated whether her upcoming gift might extend three days to ten... or longer.
"You'll issue missions that our students undertake for monetary compensation."
He continued evenly. "All tasks are permissible - even assassination contracts."
The square fell deathly silent.
Daimyo exchanged stunned glances at this unprecedented proposal.
The smarter ones immediately grasped the implications.
Shinobi, once their subjects, would now become equals through this mercenary arrangement.
Several faces darkened with displeasure.
Suddenly,
An overwhelming chakra presence blanketed the square.
Hanekawa turned to see Kaguya release a black sphere from her palm.
Chibaku Tensei?
Overkill for intimidating daimyo, he thought.
Then realization struck.
The sphere ascended rapidly,
Its gravitational pull intensifying until the entire world trembled.
"Spare us, Goddess!"
Daimyo prostrated desperately as the ground quaked.
Even Order members knelt, awestruck by the apocalyptic display.
The black orb's gravity reached critical mass,
Tearing mountains, forests and entire landmasses skyward.
Sunlight dimmed as a new celestial body took shape overhead.
"You shall call this... the Moon."
Kaguya's voice was ice. "Any objections?"
None dared speak, utterly humbled by this godlike feat.
Henceforth, the moon would forever remind them of the Rabbit Goddess' might.
As for opinions? Irrelevant.
Four words surfaced in Hanekawa's mind: vanity projects ruin nations.
