Collar6 #1180

I hope y'all don't mind indulging my half-assed narrative attempts at characters having psychological crisis...es? Whatever >.> Sorry for the talkie portions, y'all I gotta try and do some of that character development thing, even if it's not well executed! I'll be back Wednesday with the next one! Thanks everyone! Love y'all!

All Evita wanted was a simple life with Michael and her family. And the influence of Xor tore that away from her. I can’t help wondering who was speaking at the time we first meet her; Evita or Xor?

Lomond

This is strange, for all the years I’ve booed Evita, suddenly I feel sorry for her.

Lomond

Yeah, it's looking like Evita's really starting to feel the negative effects of this path now; with whatever guilt she had felt about all of the questionable things that she did while in pursuit of her past goals (trying to rescue Michael from the Association; even going so far as to read through the Black Books against Gunther's advice, this event causing her to end up as a vessel for Xor's corruption), coming right back to the surface again! While Evita has not displayed any obvious signs of this guilt whenever she's in a public setting, a stance that has ended up causing a ton of lingering tension between both her and Michelle whenever they have met up (given almost every single one of Evita's major choices in her quest ended up negatively affecting Michelle or her loved ones in some way), she's clearly got a lot of negative emotions bottled up inside of her (given the way that she had instantly apologized to Gunther, moments after she'd snapped at him when they were in the middle of rescuing Michael from his prison [at roughly strip #347], instantly realizing that she'd crossed a line, both in her cruel comments towards him and the excessively brutal actions which had been taken against a defeated foe)... Wonder what other things she might be recalling now, thanks to the effect of this path and how this situation looks from her perspective, given that this is all inside her mind? And I actually enjoy these wordy sections a whole lot, since they really do help to flesh out all of your characters quite a bit here, so I'm perfectly happy to continue reading it.

I restored it :)

Is the C6 chat thread been taken off Discord? I can’t find it in its usual place

Lomond

Its quite insidious if you think about it, break them down psychologically, forcing them to look at their past actions while molding the person who remains after such a scouring to who you want them to be. Especially since I suspect that Evita has a lot of hidden guilt for her actions trying to rescue Michael, guilt she even now refuses to answer for because she knows it would destroy her.

Really like the horizontal ellipses on the eyes and the dash marks under them in the 3rd to show the mental assailance and that (for Evita at least) it's very effective on her. Kinda interesting that this is a method to bring a pony into line, it could probably do a person a good to be self-reflective, but I can imagine this method (and this trainer) seem more particular about guiding an outcome. Nice panel 1 silhouetting too.

I agree, the talking parts are good ^^

The talky parts are good too! Don't sell yourself short.
